I bought my first Grom in December 2021. I sold it to my pal in June with 25k miles on it. I went right out and bought another one! I can't be without one again. I have an MT09 that hardly moves now because the Grom is such a laugh. We went from Scotland and toured the Yorkshire Dales a few weeks ago, and are planning on doing the Alps on them next year. They're cheap as chips to run and maintain and we run them all year round.🤘🏻😁🤘🏻

Thought that was Fred Dibnah riding a Grom. Lol. I'm looking at buying one in the new year, but only interested in used models. There are a few on Gumtree for around £2000, but they are the original version that came out the year after my 2013 Honda CB500X. I intended test riding one back then, but got distracted. I didn't know anything about the SF model, so that was a good shout mate. I must get down to Yorkshire and ride some of those awesome roads sometime.

Hahaha cheers mate, someone said that to me on holiday this year too 🤣👍… the SF is a cracking bike, 4 speed box and a very basic set of clocks… my lad has put a flat seat of his which means he can slide back a bit and get proper comfy! It’s a lovely thing!! Ridiculous mpg too

I've got an SF and a gen 3 Grom. Both absolutely brilliant fun to ride...both slightly different. You can't go wrong with either. No probs with 5 speed box on my Gen 3, and the extra gear is nice to have. The SF definitely looks better though.

@2 nice bikes to have there mate 👍 the sf is definitely the better looking one too I’d agree! Hopefully there’s gonna be quite a bit of Grom stuff this year 👍

The color combo availe here in the US that I liked was highlighter yellow. It's a great bike. Now go take a long holiday on it. 🏍💨🦑

We didn’t get the yellow option over here, red, blue or grey sp… the sp you got was very nice 👌… just back from family holiday so back to work later this week I’m afraid Eric.. but a decent trip on it will be happening as soon as I get a few days to do it

A plan has been hatched to take a pair of groms on a big roadtrip/holiday next summer before the big fella goes off to university 💙

Hi NM. Totally agree with everything you say about the gen 3 Grom. I'm 67 and the Grom is my 50 something bike. I absolutely love it. Done 1000km in just over 2 months. There is nothing wrong with the gearbox, it's the linkage. These are the steps I took. I fitted a gear shaft support bracket (helpful). Then I welded up the holes in the 2 activation leavers and re-drillet them to 6mm. I junked the bit of scrap metal Honda use as a linkage and made up a precision ball-end linkage to replace it. The gear change is 98% perfect now. I would send pictures if I knew how. A tip, the ëb@y linkage for the Hunter has the end fittings I used. Many fit bar end mirrors. You can achieve almost the same by removing the MM mirrors and bending them down (in a protected vice) so they sit 1 inch above your hands. Gives you the same effect for nowt. Have fun, they are wonderful little bikes. 😂

PS, the gen 1 & 2 have a horrible oil spinner/cleaner, the 3 has a proper oil filter.

Howdo, I’m glad you’re loving your Grom.. I love mine to bits too to be fair, I’m almost certain I’m gonna buy a new shifter with no linkage but that folds up in the event it touches ground (hope to not find out) I’ll get it fettled.. next thing is a rack to attach my Oxford qr tankbag to.. I did that on the monkey and it was perfect for carrying camera gear and charging stuff not to mention money for petrol, brews and cake…
@NorthernMotovlog5 ай бұрын
Ey up, yeah that was the downside to the earlier engines, the new one having a proper oil filter is a big leap… I still thing the sf Grom is “the one” 🤣 however I’m happy as Larry with mine…
@timsatchell67135 ай бұрын
@@NorthernMotovlog heard the shifters fitted directly to the shaft have an awful long throw on them and don't improve neutral selection. The shaft support brackets were developed to protect the shaft fitted with linkless shifters but seem to help with the shifting a bit. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Very pleased with my modifications. Neutral very easy to find from 1st. Success, whatever you try.

Some folks in the United States claim that the gear shift issue is vastly improved with an upgraded shifter linkage and pedal. It is something to chat about on the forums or video. Thank you for the video and information.
