Honda seems to be gaining momentum with value propositions. I'd welcome all three to the States. The NT1100 reminds me of the old "Silverwing". It clearly has styling similarities to the current Goldwing. Which is a good thing in my opinion.

@peterwilson803914 күн бұрын
As a seventy year old man, I’m still riding my ‘05 Bandit 650, which incidentally never was never sold in the US. I’d be interested in both the 750 Hornet and the 1000 Hornet with two caveats. The 750 Hornet was introduced in Britain for £7k, and the 1000 Hornet got £10k. Granted that was the standard variant. The SP variant is more expensive. Both are very aggressively priced. If Honda Canada is going to gouge us on these models, that would dampen my enthusiasm. The other caveat is a power reduction. If Honda reduces the power of the 750 Hornet to say 85bhp, the option of keeping my bought and paid for Bandit is all the more attractive. The reality is, I suppose, especially in Canada, with our short riding season, is that if you already have a bike that satisfies your needs, there’s very little reason to upgrade. That’s why attracting new riders is so crucial to the industry.
@DifferentSpokesTV14 күн бұрын
Yep, the Bandits were great bikes and will probably last forever. The shiny new thing isn't always the best decision.
@ccooper878514 күн бұрын
In the UK we have had similar problems for years. Honda still have no intention of selling the CT125 here. A couple of years ago I emailed them asking if they were serious about selling bikes due to this and the ever decreasing number of dealers. I never received an acknowledgement let alone a reply.

In 2021 I needed a new bike bad, my 2009 Buell Ulysses was on its last legs and major back surgery meant I could no longer ride my beloved 2003 HD Night Train. I was desperately hoping for the NT100 to be brought to Canada but unfortunately that didn't happen. I ended up buying a 2021 Pan America, I loved the bike but it had so many electrical gremlins and spent so much time in the shop I finally had enough last summer (2024) and traded it for a 2024 Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES. It is a great bike but I would much rather have the more street focused NT100, the only reason I ride an ADV bike is for the seating position and suspension which are a necessity for my surgically fused spine, I have no desire to take a 500+ lbs bike off road. But I would lose too much money if I were to trade the ATAS in now, damn my luck.

@exothermal.sprocket14 күн бұрын
I'd never buy the Transalp.... or V-Strom 800DE for that matter, unless I secured the funds for tuning. Both of these things are so stinking restricted. Check out 2 wheel dyno works videos on these models (GSX-8S for the V-Strom reference, same engine, same intake) to learn. They are corked up anywhere from 10 to 17 horsepower, the throttle by wire maps are a mess, the ignition advance maps are a mess, they run excessively rich at full throttle, and nearly dangerously lean at part throttle. When fully uncorked (your local legal requirements considered of course), they don't even look like the same engines on the dyno map.

It will be interesting to see how well the NT sells here. I've always thought that some of the other offerings in the practical tourer space focused too much on things like electronically adjustable suspension and quick shifters and not enough on keeping the price down. It won't be too many years before the 750 pounds of my current tourer is more than I wish to handle. By then there should be used examples of the NT available that will be on the top of my short list.

How does the loss of electronic suspension affect the bike, especially in Rain mode? Is electronic suspension really that important?
@DifferentSpokesTV14 күн бұрын
I like it for the ease of use and convenience but it does add weight, complexity and cost. If you set up your suspension the right way once you're good to go forever and there's less to break down. Rain Mode likely relies mostly on higher ABS and TC settings.

As long as they make a manual version of any bike I'm interested in I don"t care because some people with hand or wrist issues really seem to benefit from being clutchless. I got stuck in an automatic semi tractor a year ago and absolutely despise that thing. I know I have better control of the transmission. Due to emissions it's dang near impossible to buy a manual transmission truck. I don't want motorcycles to get to that point is my only concern. I enjoy shifting it makes me feel more connected to the vehicle.

As a USA neighbor, I so far don't understand Honda's reasoning about the USA market. But I guess that's better news for Suzuki's GSX-S1000, the '25 Z900, and GSX-8S. As far as an NT competitor.......there is none. Not sure if that's good or bad.

The 2025 CB1000 should be an appreciable kick on the pants of the Honda brand, if the USA ever gets one. The former CB1000R (never referred to as Hornet in this market, neither were the 599 or 919) had the 998cc engine from the 2007 and was very detuned/underwelming in terms of output compared to even a de-restricted Z900. The new CB takes the 2017 Fireblade engine and promises more power. Still not the long-stroke snarl of the GSX-S1000 but at least it produces near as much power.

@ the 650 is on its way out in terms of platform aging. They have to either heavily update it to keep competitive or just drop it and use the new platform that is simpler, cheaper, lighter, stiffer, nimbler… I get that they want to keep the 4 cylinder going because it a unique nowadays but something has to change soon or it’s gonna be a 2006 motorcycle in 2026 (or even later)
