I miss my Deauville badly. The most reliable machine I ever had the pleasure of riding

Enjoying this, pissing rain here for the last two days so no motorcycling for me. For years I scoffed at deauvilles, then I bought one I'm impressed by its versatility on all road types !

Just built one from 3 scrappers, not ridden it yet, but hoping to do so within the next 3 weeks.

I am quite an old biker now too. I am seriously considering getting an NTV if I can find a good one. Thanks for the video.

It's insane how the Irish and U.K countryside are almost indistinguishable, if I woke up in the morning on one of those back roads I wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless I saw MPH signs of course lol, the same shitty dark cloudy skies and all ! It was a sad day when the Irish Government changed us to Km/h, it was completely and utterly unnecessary ! By the way I love the Deauville 650, on the lookout for one in good condition or the 700 but I think I'd prefer the 650 for the carbs and choke, it really gives a simple, electronic free raw feel that a motorcycle should offer , in my opinion !

I wish Honda made a proper replacement for the Deauville without all that modern electronics and TFT screen junk that they churn out today and they all look the same, TFT screens look cheap and nasty on a bike or even in a car. I don't want different driving modes, apple car play etc, just want to get on a bike and ride it. If I were to buy a newer bike it would be a royal enfield or triumph, a 650 super meteor or Bonneville T100, the T100 is a gorgeous bike but like the style of the Deauvilles and the integrated panniers, the fairings and screen make it a decent bike for touring but I can't find one in decent shape for a decent price. The NT1100 is no deauville replacement. It costs 17,000 Euro's here in Ireland and I doubt event he NT700 cost this when it came out even if you're to compare the prices then vs now ? The other bike I was looking at is the CBF 600 with integrated panniers. So many bikes now especially the Hondas are just like modern cars, boring, no character, boring to drive and mostly offer an appliance like experience. If I were to buy new then I'd certainly consider the new Triumph Speed 400, plenty of power for me but it's a naked but a lovely bike, lovely speedo but could have done better, the screen could have been kept separate but it's a lot nicer than anything Honda and others churn out these days.
