When you replace the outer tide rods, eventually you have do the wheel alignment right? That's what I have heard
@jamesv2471
@jamesv2471 11 ай бұрын
@@DavidGarcia-re9qh Best bet is to do the alignment as soon as possible. By measuring you will get it close, but more than likely not perfect. If left as such, the tire will wear faster.

It is a pretty easy job to do. Any question let me know. If u are in the rust belt try to soak it in pb blaster....so that by the time u get there the bolts are ready to go.

I believe you are actually supposed to hold it with an Allen wrench and tighten it with a wrench. I looked up the torque values for the stuff I have to remove and they are: • Struts o 2 pinch bolts  16 X 1.5 mm  157 NM  116 #Ft o 3 top flange nuts  10 X 1.25 mm  69 NM  51 #Ft o Brake hose bracket  8 X 1.25 mm  22 NM  16 #Ft o Stabilizer link  12 X 1.25 mm  78 NM  58 #Ft o Raise up suspension before tightening. • Shocks o Top 2 bolts  10 X 1.25 mm  44 NM  33 #Ft o Bottom bolt  12 X 1.25 mm  78 NM  58 #Ft o Raise up suspension off of jack before tightening.

Hey Mauro, I don't recall the size. Maybe one of the viewers can shine in on that.

I found the lower nuts difficult struggled on the first side. Second side I used 18mm socket and swivel and then a 3 inch extention that allowed me to use my 1/2 stubby impact. I got non oem parts they look just like those do.

Do you know what the torque spec is for these? How many Ft/lbs? Thank you!
@kaimanson3174
@kaimanson3174 2 жыл бұрын
Negative, If you're asking about the mounting brackets, around 35-40 ft. lbs (for 10mm bolts which I think those are).

what if those bolts are rusty and doesnt want to come out??
@kaimanson3174
@kaimanson3174 2 жыл бұрын
Try to clean as much rust as u can, spray some PB blaster and try to remove it. If it won't budget, next step is to cut the nut.

I wouldn't risk putting it on without torquing it to the proper specs.

It is always good to follow the torque spec as much as possible, but after doing a few of these your memory has that torque in your hand already.
