Very nice, cute too. Both of you. I'm wanting to do this but I'm going to be traveling with my baby boy Chewy. He's a 5 pound Yorkie and my best friend.

Golly. A friend and I went to Baja and we camped that way in his Toyota, just with a mattress and camper top. One of those tiny pickups that are indestructible and don't car about the poor quality Mexican gas (our friends in a much fancier Ford had troubles). But anyway, this is much nicer of course, and now I see this conversion is the cool thing. Come to think of it, maybe John Steinbeck made this famous back in the 60s in his book Travels with Charlie. Nice video, would like to see more details on how you did it, what the features are (stove? though I see some little bit of detail in the WP site) Interested to see how you did it with the Odyssey - whoa living up to the name, aren't we?. NZ looks awesome, carry on!

Thank you! Appreciate your comment and feedback. I (Carmen) love pickups and have been dreaming of having one as my first car since I was little, so even though not as equipped as ours it sounds great and adventurous! Have you travelled to or do you come from Baja? Both of us haven't read or heard of the book but could be that he has spread the idea of sleeping in a car! Do you want to know how exactly we built the back shelf together and the bed construction? Yes, camping stove is in the top of the right side and things like kettle, mixer and pots and pans are below the shelf in the space before the floor of the booth. Yes, we are enjoying NZ- because of the rarity of having electricity and wifi the next video will come as soon possible. :-)

What did you use for the storage unit in the back? Love the build!

Gonna be fun when it comes time to get at your spare tire. lol. Its under the middle mat, kinda between and behind front seats!

So Awesome! Question: when you removed the middle seats the floor is flat? There’s no metal hooks sticking up?

Looks great! I've got a 2005 odyssey for the same reason. You think it's still doable without taking the middle seats out? And just folding them down? I'd only use mine for short breaks so don't need much else apart from a bed
@calisee34646 жыл бұрын
dxrh sure, should work! Have seen other campers here fold down the middle seats instead of taking them out. It does make quite a significant difference spacewise - especially because the 2005 is not as high as the older ones if I remember correctly. But since you won’t be traveling as long it should be perfectly fine. Even if you have too much stuff you could put it on the “bed” while you drive and on the front seats at night 🤔👍 Hope you’ll try it out and have some great road trips 🚗⛰

finally someone with the same year model as mine AND also the same idea..l DON'T want to pull the seats out cause when it's NOT pandemic times I'm normally transporting family members in my car, hence why l went the 7 seater Honda Odessy..of late I've been getting a bit of wanderlust happening (probably because we're not allowed to go ANYWHERE right now, chuckle) and am trying to work out how l can use the back of my car for weekend trips away, once Andrews lifts our quarantine here in Vic Aus..I'm also a 24/7 carer for a family member so another reason that l cannot fully pull out all seats..so it's been two years now, how did you go with your outfitting..??

Nice! I have liked and subscribed. I made a quick foldout platform and was interested to see how others did it. I need to be able to fold mine up and pop seats up to drive kiddies around so it’s nice and flexible :)

WoW, i didnt know the back doors opened like the front doors instead of being on tracks & sliding, my odyssey is a 2006 & i bought it right at a year ago & now i kinda wish mine had regular doors on the back🤭🤔, but cool build👍🏼☮️
