At 61 I was ready for my first SUV. Purchased a 2024 Passport Blk Edition. Love it. Two rows is all the wife and I need. Two weens in the back (crate) and we can go anywhere (not Forerunner anywhere but what we do this is great). Are there more vehicles with more luxury, sure? This PP works great for us (normally an Audi family) I wanted the V6, no CVT and 5000 lbs towing capacity which you don't get with a 2.0 turbo 4 cyl. So enjoy the ride folks. The Passport is a CUV, not an SUV. It’s basically a jacked up wagon. The V6 is held together with a rubber timing belt and is a ticking time bomb. The engine becomes a paper weight when it breaks. Belts should never run cams or oil pumps.

I have a 2022 Hond Passport TrailSport with 37K miles. One terrible thing mine has is the steering wheel shake/ vibration. It can be seen and felt. It started from the day I purchased it brand new. The dealer would not do anything about it stating it was normal. So around 9K miles, I changed the tires, hoping the shake would disappear. That didn't help. Around 24K miles, I changed rotors. That didn't help either. I balance the wheels every 5K miles, but the steering wheel shake/ vibration is still there. It is especially noticeable after hard acceleration. I have taken the vehicle to two mechanics, and they could not find the problem. The shaking is so annoying. However, the car drives in a perfectly straight line so the alignment is good. The tires are worn evenly, so I have no idea what's causing the steering wheel shake. I had a 2021 Pilot and it did not have this steering wheel shake. Otherwise, I love the looks, comfort, and driving dynamics of my Passport. I would definitely buy it again.

I believe the Passport would meet your needs. I have a 2020 AWD Elite and I love that the back seats fold completely flat, so you can put down an air or foam mattress. I'm 6'1" and, while I haven't slept in my vehicle, I know that I can put a foldable foam mattress in the back that I have slept on in the house. I just went out and measured. With the front seats in a normal position, it's 75" of available space between the tailgate and the back of the front seats. With the front seats moved fully forward, it's about 84" of available space. But with the front seats fully forward, you have a large gap between the top of the folded back seat and the back of the front seat that you would have to deal with somehow. (A piece of plywood? A small storage box?) You could also go to a dealer with a tape measure and see if you can crawl into the back and fit.

Looks are subjective. I prefer the front end of the previous version and dislike the new truck-like front end look. I actually bought a 2021 when I saw what the 2022 looked like. I never once looked at my 2021’s front end and thought “looks like a minivan”. Also, those cargo size numbers are official stats from Honda, but Honda had changed its calculation method. The previous official stats were more realistic: 41.2 cubic feet behind the 2nd row and 77.9 cubic feet with the 2nd row folded down. Things I love about the Passport: -Really agile and fast for a big vehicle that can carry a ton. -Honda’s V6 is generally reliable. Things I don’t like: -Gas hog. You have to drive like a grandpa to beat 20 mpg. -I really wish Honda could have gotten rid of cylinder de-activation and start-stop. These damage engine long-term reliability, which is a real shame because Honda’s V6 is one of the best ever made. Yeah, they had to do it to keep the V6 while meeting regulations, but it still sucks.

I have a 2023 Honda Passport Trailsport. The 0-60 specs are full of crap. I test drove a few before I bought mine and none were anywhere close to a 6 sec 0-60. More like 8-10 seconds at best. The worst part about the car by far is the horrible infotainment system and the poorly designed, and far too small instrument cluster. Far too much flipping through screens on the cluster to get at info that should be always displayed on the home screen, like a compass. Gas mileage on long trips has been exceptional. I live in South FL and I've had to drive to Indiana a few times. 24-25mpg both ways, and that was without eco mode. Was very happy about that. City mileage here in FL is about 16-18mpg

Currently looking at a passport purely due to towing capacity. Of the 5k+ capacity crowd it might be the best compromise between drivability, space, and economy. Don't need a third row, and I can't help but think that third row is just going to take up room (Highlander/Pilot/etc) even if you fold them down. I need at least 4k in towing capacity which rules out so many competitors, particularly the outback.
