Beautiful job! I have followed much of what you have done. I have completed the Dual Battery but I am very interested in 1) do you have a part number for the Radiator hose? I have been to every auto parts store in the area and no one has a 3" dia hose. 2) what is the acc fuse box setting on? Great way to get much needed space. 3) I am very confused about how you did the switch for acc. Don't you have to have two inputs to the Stinger...one that activates it when KEY ON and then one that activates it through the switch? I am confused on that one....can you help me. I am putting in a dual battery system in my 2019 pioneer 1000-5 along with stereo and accessories. I have some questions for you. 1) I’m confused on the double throw double pull rocker switch. What brand and how many pins are you using? 2) Should I be running a main power wire from ignition and splitting it? For example: One to 12 volt meter for main battery, One to lower post on stinger and One to double pull double throw rocker switch. 3)it looks like you have a power wire from 100 amp shut off switch. Is that giong to the same rocker switch that the main battery power wire is going to and is that power wire for the auxiliary battery? 4) Do I piggyback over to other accessories rocker switches? I am not an electrician so I appreciate your patience and assistance.

Question regarding winch wiring. Since you wired the winch before the stinger, the stinger does not provide over heating protection. Did you wire in an inline fuse of some sort to protect the winch?

Hi there NCDradon21, nice dual setup you have here. I’m looking at doing this on my P5. Looks like you have a breaker for all of the AUXs but nothing for the winch, am I right? if that is yes, what would be the reasoning behind it? I would think that another one like the one you have for AUX should protect from winch overload but higher Amps, perhaps 300 Amps? Thank you for taking your time to answer. Chuck

Awesome video thank you!! So if I understand correctly with the DPDT switch, basically one side of the switch runs the accessories from the main battery and the other side of the switch runs the accessories using the aux battery. Thanks again!!

Jamie Shaw the accessories will always run off the second battery, the DPDT switch is what sends the signal to the solenoid so you can activate it with either the key when the Pioneer is on, or off the sencond battery when it’s turned off. If you never want to run accessories with it turned off, then you could skip the dpdt switch and power the solenoid straight from the accessory power I like running it when it’s off so I can run lights and music

Jamie Shaw correct, the switch has 3 positions, 1 is for off, 1 is for using the keyed on power to activate the solenoid, and the other is for the second battery to power the solenoid when the pioneer is turned off.

I liked your setup so much, i decided to copy it. Here's my problem: I screwed with a 7-pin DPDT switch (with the LED's, just like yours) and I couldn't' get the LEDs on the switch to light correctly. Any chance you can help here, perhaps show the back of that switch wiring? I was wondering if i had a faulty switch.

If i remember correctly (its been a while) it was determined by which set of pins you used on the back. I dont have the Pioneer anymore and did it differently with my Talon

Nice job, I'm planning on doing this also. I have had clutch issues and I think part of the problem is winching on the single battery, along with the og clutches. I have been researching and I understand everything except the extra fuse box. Could you explain how it works in relation to the switch panel, and possibly explain the wiring process for the switch that changes between the ignition switch and directly from the battery. Thanks!

The fuse box serves as power for all the accessories. So each accessory has a dedicated fuse. However I have all mine going through a relay that is triggered by the switch for that accessory. The DPDT switch varies between manufacturer depending on the pins it has. But in general terms, the switch is wired with the output going to the solenoid, and the 2 inputs come from accessory power or 2nd battery power. That way you can switch between power to accessories from turning the key on, or using the 2nd battery with the key off.

Right above the battery switch is a Ram mount. It's a phone holder the way it's set up. Can also switch that for a tablet holder for trail maps

Anthony Huff there should not be any backfeed. If there is it means your DPDT switch is giving power to the fuse box from your second battery

Matt Lemmens there should be no backfeed. If there is it means your second battery is backfeeding your fuse panel through your DPDT switch

the voltmeters get power depending on what is powered on. Main battery volt meter only gets power when the key is on. second battery voltmeter gets power when the 2nd fuse panel has power. the switch wiring below the ram mount will depend on which switch you have. Mine is a 7 pin DPDT i got from amazon

I actually have not fix it yet but I unplugged my volt meter I had when I was having the back feed issue and plug it in a different volt meter that I had and it fixed the issue . The only problem was the second volt meter was a circe verse a square that I need to fit in my dash

Great set up the I’ve watched the video at least 10 times, I can’t tell, did you just run a short negative cable from negative fuse block straight to the aux battery? Did you use the 2017 and up pre wired pioneer ground to the winch solenoid or to the negative on the aux battery? Lastly I get the stinger solenoid except for the red wire (16 ga possibly on small stinger solenoid near passenger firewall) where does it go? Again safe and incredible set up!

I have the 2016 so no pre wired ground. I did run negative from fuse block to the aux battery. The small wire on the solenoid goes to the switch in the cab which allows me to select when the fuse panel gets power

I have this same set up. I recently installed a turn signal kit. It says to tap into the accessories wire that I’m already using. Can I tap into accessories wire again? Or can I just feed it off the blue sea fuse box?

For the one I have- 1 and 3 are not used. 5 is jumpered to 2 and goes to solenoid. 4 input power (2nd battery or aux) 6 input power (2nd battery or aux) 7 is ground
