I changed out the carb on my 2005 Rancher, put it back together and it had a crazy high idle. Went back and watched your vid and noticed I didn't tighten up that throttle cable. Great video.

That electrical wire on the carb is a heater to stop carb icing up. Great vid, it's refreshing to see warts and all, we all ride the struggle us sometimes

The piece you called the choke is actually the throttle cable and the piece you pointed out to be the fuel line is actually the choke . But Great job !

Great video! I highly recommend people spend the extra buck on the OEM carburetor because the cheap ones always cause my atv’s to turn off when going up or down hills.

Great video thanks!! I'll be putting my new carb on when I get home from work in a few weeks I've already got the airbox and carb off and ordered new parts(carb, filter, ) and I have to clean gas tank and replace fuel hose. I hope mine fires up it's been sitting 5 years!!!!

Good job. I recommend using Lucas Ethenol "Safeguard". It's done wonders for my older motorcycle with carbs. The older stabil red breaks down with 10 percent moonshine gas. Stabil also has a new Ethenol product as well.

We changed out the carb on a 2006 Honda Rancher TRX 350 FE 6. Ran into a problem with the #6 10 amp fuse blowing. Motor would not start afterward. Found the problem to be the heater element on the after market carb was shorting out. Swapped out the heater element and runs great..

@@KVUSMC-KU4SMC Well, my choke cable is seized into the carb. Got everything else off. Used heat gun toward back of choke needle hole and it came out... All done and put together... Now it blows a 10 amp fuse every time I turn the key... It was the carb heater blowing the fuse. I disconnected it as we are in the CA desert. Still running rough as hell and no idle without throttle.

Thanks for the video - this is my exact model and now I feel like I can (maybe) do this on my own ... a buddy of mine swears by taking these carbs off & soaking 'it in acetone then rebuilding, since there's only so much that can go wrong in there ... I may try that first, but getting to the carb looks like 90% of the work ... hmm ...

@@KVUSMC-KU4SMC I'm with you on the original parts - sure, I can get a carb that 'sort of' fits from amazoid for $40, but ... if I'm gonna do the work, may as well do it right? Time vs. $ .... We'll see what good 'ol cleaning will do, hope I don't have to drop $200 for a new Honda carb, but I'd rather do it once right than several times half-assed. Again, thanks for the video. You sound sort of like John Goodman, which I think is great :)

If I could suggest you review this process and where and what needs to be removed or added would make your Video a lot better. Your presentation looked as if when you started the recording was the first time you had ever seen the carb. Hello I just bought a 2006 Honda Rancher ES 2x4 and I ordered a new Honda OEM carburetor and I was wondering where do the vacuum lines hook up Too I have two little lines that are underneath my tank I was thinking maybe those

I bought the quad and it had no carburetor in it so I see how the lines come to a Y on the carburetor which those are breather hoses but I don't have another line on the right of the tank to fit that Y union I have 2 smaller rubber hoses that look like they rest on the snorkel

I am having the exact same problem. Just started doing it yesterday after having zero problems for 18 years. Runs better when I pull the choke but obviously can’t run it like that. Smells like it’s getting too much gas. Going to try a new plug first but maybe time for a new carb.

Sounds like your idle circuit is fine but main jets may need cleaning. These carbs hate ethanol moreso than most

Got a 99 TRX450S that when trying to adjust the fuel screw I can close the screw completely and the bike doesn’t even drop an rpm it seems. When would cause the rpms to not change at all?

I believe it Was Just A Bad Batch Of Carbs from the Factory I had a 2004 Rancher It Still Had the Original Carb on it Not all of them Do it ! I think the Float Sticks it causes it to leak !
