Honda Rancher Shift Problems - How it works - How to fix ALL PROBLEMS!!!

I tell you how to fix pretty much every problem you can have with the Honda Rancher or Foreman ES shift system. Starting with the ECU Computer (which displays dashes on the screen when it won't shift). Very simple fix (see subzerosound.com). Video then shows the shift motor and reduction gears (angle sensor is on same assembly). Then the video shows the shift linkage under the front cover. Those 3 systems cause 99% of all shift problems.
Towards end of video I mistakenly said if the Shift Buttons activate the shift motor, then the Bypass System will fix it, but it will not. The Computer Bypass System will work if the Shift Buttons DO NOT activate the shift motor. Of course, if the shift motor is broke, you need a new one. Test it with jumper wires from battery, 12V plus to either wire, ground minus to other wire, quick touch only. Video shows how to get to shift motor connector for testing (note Foreman one is on right side).

Hello, there is a problem on my 2008 Honda trx250tm ES fourtrax. the indicator on the display shows a different position compared to the position on the gearbox. for example on the screen it says that the gearbox is in first gear, but the gearbox is actually in neutral and the green light for neutral does not light up. when I press the small handle and the button down to put it in reverse, the green light for neutral comes on and the gearbox is in reverse gear. I note that I can't get the letter R on the screen at all. I changed the angle sensor but everything is the same. Does anyone have a solution?

This is great! Helped me to understand how everything works. I have an 02 Honda Rancher ES 4x4 that has always had this shifting issue(Rocking it usually fixed it). Just recently it locked up after putting on a new battery. The display shoes that it is in neutral and it will start but it does not move if I try to push it as it seems to be locked in gear and no response when I press the shift buttons. Angle Sensor has been replaced but this did not change anything. I am just getting the opportunity to start working on this again. Any suggestions?

Hello! I'm from Ukraine. I'm watching your channel. Nothing is clear in English. Nobody understands this technique here. We have a Honda foreman (trx500fpe), on tiptronic. When I turn on the 4th gear it starts crunching very strongly and does not go. Please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it, because in Ukraine no one understands this

This is exactly what I needed. I have suspected it was the shift plate. I saw that because it would not even shift with the shift tool. I haven't been able to get inside. Question, is there any position the gears need to be in once reassembled? How would you achieve that? Thanks for your help!

My TRX 250 would not shift at all.. Just took the electric shifter motor off but left it plugged in..it worked so I put it back in and now it shifts fine. Thanks
