I got the accelerator diaphragm rebuild kit but the shaft is too short. I had to wait almost a month as of today just for it to be shipped from China. I just soaked the old diaphragm with WD-40 so hopefully some of the flexibility may return. But thanks to you sharing this video you reminded me that I needed to actually connect the needle valve (?) to the float. So no wonder it wasn't moving when I tipped the carburetor upside down. It needs the weight of the float to pull it back down...for lack of a better way of describing it. I was expecting it to move more freely. I may add additional comments after I have gotten more done. Thank you again for sharing.

working on a rebel now with only 200 miles on it. carb in bad shape I had to pull the float needle out with vise grips. did you change the gasket between the carb and motor as well? I'm wondering if I could leave it as is since it looks ok.

@4:50 you inserted the washer before the spring on the air mixture screw. Someone told me that the spring goes first, and then the washer, which then presses on the tiny rubber o-ring that seats down in the hole of the carb body where the air mixture screw in inserted. Which is correct I’m confused as a newbie?

What is the rebuild kit part # or where did you find it? Also, did you clean out the choke jet port, and how?

The mixture screw looks like it was put together wrong. I think the spring goes on first, then the washer then there should be a rubber ring at the top of the hole.

Was there a rubber gasket already in the hole for the mixture screw before the spring and the washer?

I am having the same question now my rubber ring fell out and I didn’t catch where from haha now I’m screwed

@@lmt-adventures620 I bought a cheap ass kit on Amazon and only used the o ring and mixture screw and threw the other stuff out. For the price I paid it was way cheaper than dealer anyway.

I was doing fine until a tiny rubber o ring fell out from somewhere in the carb (I’m guesssing one of the jets or adjustment holes) and now I have no idea where to put it. It’s about the side of the brass washer than goes under the spring on air mixture screw but it’s black rubber.

the plastic screw on the jet needle isn’t going in no matter what i do. it’s been a hour and i’m still fiddling with it
