Another very helpful instructional video, thanks!!! I’m hoping I can make do with my center stand. Also, might it be necessary for some more close-up shots for re-installing the ABS brake assembly??? Or will it be straight forward enough once I see it in person??? Thanks again!!

I have done this exact job using this for guidance, very helpful thank you very much! However, my motorbike won't switch on now, no lights, no horn, nothing. Is it possible I've knocked some automatic kill switch (ie like kick stand being down) as I've changed the wheel? I've checked all fuses
@SLIGHT_ Жыл бұрын
Common issue these have is a loose battery terminal. Check this first. You’re not wrong, a kick stand switch can cause this as well. Make sure it’s connected. Doing a rear tire wouldn’t cause issues with starting the bike. Let me know if this doesn’t work.

I just recently got my both tire swapped. Commander 3s. Is it okay not to balance them at all?
@SLIGHT_5 ай бұрын
I highly recommend you balance them! You can get away with an unbalanced rear… yet the front will put the bike in a tank slapper.

Hi Slight_, I’ve just recently bought a cmx500se 2023. What size is the Allen key on the near side of the rear wheel? Also, I noticed you can spin the rear wheel really easy whereas the rear wheel on my bike needs two hands to rotate it. I’ve not got a paddock stand but I’m using a twin metal roller device to sit the rear wheel on. My bike has 800 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@SLIGHT_6 ай бұрын
14mm for the axle Also as the weight of the bike is on those rollers spinning that wheel by had will require much more work. I highly recommend those rear stands (link in description if you can’t find them) Feel free to message or email me with any question you have.

So curious question. What do you think would be involved in giving a rebel 1100 a 360mm tire? Much like the v rods 360 mods. Honestly just curious.

My rear brakes always close up and I have to pry open to get back over the disc, what did you do that they just slide back? Also wish I had access to a shop instead of using spoons to get the tire off lol
@SLIGHT_3 жыл бұрын
I’ve only had this issue once. It’s due to the calliper shift and the pads moving from their seat. In the event of this you can realign the pads and put back together. Also do not touch the brake pedal. You can also add a shim, or wrench to hold the position (in place of the rotor) be careful not do damage the pads if you choose this way. It is true… it does help being a tech. Spoons work great though. Hope this helps. Thanks for your comment. Ride safe.

Anything we have to do with the chain after removing the RW? Assuming adjustments😅 if there is could you send link
@SLIGHT_ Жыл бұрын
Depends on how you take it off. In most cases removing the rear axle is enough. It is always recommended to clean, lube and adjust the chain after this. Thanks for watching,

I saw your tire on the Stand video and had to ask. How do you like the Mich tire? Can you tell a difference from the stock Dunlop in ride and grip?
@SLIGHT_2 жыл бұрын
Oh it’s completely different. Feels even more “flickable” the grip is ridiculously better. While riding with the Dunlop’s the tires almost wondered into every snake and road imperfections, the Michelins you hardly feel those issues. Simply put I am a fan. Front tire is on order and will be installed ASAP.

I see you used tape as a witness for where the adjuster and it’s accompanying assembly (like the position indicator thing idk what to call it) would be. Was your chain far off in alignment, or was it pretty close, just using the witness “marks” (tape in this instance)
@SLIGHT_ Жыл бұрын
Chain was perfect using that method. There is so many options. I’m most cases you can just remove the axle without touching the adjuster. Yet I personally rather do the chain adjustment as well. In the maintenance videos I have one on this.

I messed up . I have 2021 rebel 300 and I didn’t see what mark my rebel was on . What is the line that it should be 😅😮
@ComidaDelBrain Жыл бұрын
@@gameplaya2002 it really depends on what wear your components have. I would recommend setting both to about the same spot on each side, and adjusting (forward or back) until the chain looks straight, and is within specifications. The indicators are more of a suggestion, they are not known to be very precise. Hence I would recommend aligning the chain by eye. It will be obvious if it is off center. A chain alignment tool helps as well. (Edit) If the chain is relatively straight and aligned it will mean the whole wheel assembly is aligned.
@ComidaDelBrain11 ай бұрын
@@SLIGHT_ Hey, it's been a while. I wanted to ask, when you say "in most cases" are you referring to this style of adjuster or other moto chain adjusters. The only reason I ask is because I would like to remove the wheel without removing the adjuster assembly itself. Is this possible on this assembly? Looking at it in the video and diagram it seems entirely possible. I figure as long as the assembly is as I left if, without loosening the locknuts, that once I put the wheel (and axle) back in, the adjusters will be in their original position. Would I be correct in this statement? Hope I made sense Thanks (sorry if you have answered this a million times)

What if i don’t have grease to put onto the rod? Could I use wd40? As an alternative ?

I'm watching this video to see how to remove the rear wheel to change the rear sprocket. How does the sprocket just press fit on to the rim?
@SLIGHT_2 жыл бұрын
Sprocket is on a hub. It taps off and on to the rear wheel… It’s called a Cush drive. Having bushings to dampen the force, smoothing the drive. So to answer your question, the sprocket hub just taps out… then taps back on.
@sauceboss93132 жыл бұрын

Why do you remove the Adjusters? The job can be done in half the time by leaving the Adjusters in place and just pulling the Axle. No need to even touch the Adjusters.

You’re correct it’s not required, Yet often done. Which is why I pointed it out. It only takes seconds to do… so I’m not sure how that doubles the time?? When you take the wheel off it’s best practice to address the chain on install. Appreciate the comment Andy. Thank you.
