Ken, you can pick up some speed with a polini belt and a mix of rollers or sliders.. Start with your 5.5 gram and add a 6.0 every other slot.. 3 5.5g and 3 6.0g .. Heavyer roller's or sliders will give you more speed.. Im running 3 6.0 & 3 6.5 Dr. Pulleys and she moves.. ALSO here's one of my best tricks.. Put a 9/16's chrome washer on your shaft between the engine and Variator.. This will force the Variator open for more speed.. and washers are cheep. 😂 Brian

I've installed the same kit from TRS and I can confirm about a 3mph increase. Also noticed that the bike can keep the top speed longer on up hills. Great video.

I must have hit the Ruckus “lotto” then. Today going to work I got to 40mph without full throttle and the engine sounded fine. Flat road with a slight headwind. For reference I’m 6’3” and 200lbs.

Ken, thank you making these videos and giving it your best. I’m not an expert mechanic either and seeing you make a mistake is one I don’t need to make myself. Sorry the parts only got you 2 mph but I appreciate it all the same.

I don’t understand why everyone remove the kickstart lever. Anyway I have the 2024 Ruckus and run 43 mph stock on flat. I’m 5’8” tall and weigh 250lbs. Good video bro. Hi from NJ

Yeah I’m the same height but weigh a bit more than you, I had my 2024 ruckus at 42mph, bought it at 169 miles, now it’s got 3k miles now, now it’s running slower possibly cause of the variator weights. But I’ll check it out tomorrow. Got big roadtrip plans with the ruck next year. Love the scoot

@Slo49cc I weigh 275 and losing, but are you saying the Stage 1 slowed yours down? I live at sea level and flat land.
@Winterstick5498 ай бұрын
The major difference I experienced with the Stage 1 kit was quicker acceleration. My top speed may have gone up a smidge. If you live in a hilly area I highly recommend the Stage 1 from TRS

It’s now two of my riding buddies that have gotten non running Rucks and I’ve got them going for them. So far I’ve also noticed that the Polini variator kit hasn’t really made any significant difference, they both have them. I’ve got a Yamaha Zuma and leave most Rucks in the dust for a few hundred bucks of mods, two strokes were the best. Good luck.

Great video you can tune off the weights and rpm with a tach.
@Smallbore2wheels Жыл бұрын
Do you have a tach laying around? It'll be a bit easier to tune once you can match rpm to the speed based on whatever rollers/sliders you use. And with the Rev limiter removed you gotta make sure you don't float the valves

I think a front windshield for better aero is really a better investment. A lower seat frame will also stop your chest being so exposed.

I’m at 52 mph with this kit and other mods and weight/ jet tuning with the 49cc engine lol. You can just run it open instead of taking the kick start off every time. GET A TACH!

Do you need a motorcycle license for this?
@Winterstick5494 ай бұрын
Not in Georgia.
@eastcoastish3 ай бұрын
In CA you need either M1 or M2 license.
@e.miller89433 ай бұрын
Most states classify motorcycles with engins less than 50cc's that don't go over 35 mph as mopeds and you don't need a motorcycle driving license or insurance. If you alter the engine to go faster, in theory, you would make it a regular motorcycle.
@eastcoastish3 ай бұрын
@@e.miller8943 not CA, mopeds are clearly defined as motorized bicycles (that have pedals) and don’t require a license. A scooter (motorized vehicle with floorboards regardless of engine size) needs an m2 license, then a regular m1 license is good to ride anything. But yeh, CA rules are harsher than most states.
