I've been doing lots of looking, and the aluminum "crush seal?" washer (causally mentioned in the official Honda manual) for the gear oil drain bolt is never cited by part number. Mine is screwed up, and needs to be replaced. It was leaking until I flipped it over and put the smooth side toward the bike. Lot's of things pop up for sale when I google for the part (Honda crush seal), different diameters versions. (22mm? / 24mm?). I can't find anything on the web where "crush seal" and "Honda Sh150i" appear together. ...except the Honda manual which doesn't cite a part number. It supposedly needs to be replaced every time or every other time. Yet there's zero reference as to what part to buy exactly. I'm also unable to identify it in the parts list/exploded view of the crankcase. Honda - Replace the crush seal often! Me - OK, no prob. But what part number or specific size is it? Honda - Oh, c'mon man. You should know!
@DaBinChe4 ай бұрын
you need to look at the parts fiche. It is under Transmission and you will see one bolt that has a washer while non of the others do. That washer #17 is referred to as "sealing washer (8mm)"

@@DaBinChe Thanks so much! I was looking at the wrong picture, obviously. I was about to buy the wrong part too, but you just saved me. Not a pressing issue like the (leaky) washer situation... I bought a couple quarts of Honda HP4M motor oil as mentioned in the 2010 manual, but I'm always wondering what competing brand (exact bottle) is considered the actual "best" for a 2010 SH. Same question with gear oil. Seems like some newer formulation top-brand (Mobil, Valvoline, Motul) pure synthetic products would be among the very best in both cases, but I can't find any reference/discussion to which specific product to target as "best" for a 2010 SH150i. I went with Valvoline 75w90 conventional gear oil. I'd have preferred their synthetic version, but was not positive it was OK to use. ...getting my info from sporadic discussions I find on the web, among people like me who don't all agree or even know what's correct. So leaves me guessing.

Are u sure u need to spin the wheel? The more u spin it, the more comes out. If u spin it fast, only half will stay in.
@DaBinChe5 жыл бұрын
no need to spin, the spinning actually holds more cause lots of the oil will end up on the gears and make the oil level seem low so while spinning you top it off it will be a bit over filled

@DaBinChe9 жыл бұрын
+peter le The final drive gear is like a differential on a rear wheel drive, there are gears that mesh together that needs to be lubricated. Oil only last for so long before they don't protect anymore. No it is not engine oil change. I prefer gear oil cause it holds up better for lubricating gears then engine oil.

Honda says 10w-30 in the manual but when I first drained mine it was gear oil. 90wt. gear oil is about the same as a 40wt engine oil. Use the 10w-30 for a tad bit better fuel economy and the gear oil for better heat and shear protection.
