I'm down with the Trail. I had a Honda Super 90 back in the early 70's and it was indestructible. Got Hondas now and love them both. No puddles on the floor and they always start.

I LOVE riding tubeless tires! Plug a nail hole and back on the road in minutes. Plus, in the thorny dessert you can add sealant. I have also heard complaints of the rear tire skidding when downshifting the "automatic trans" on the Trail.

Hey juijitsu2000 have you seen the Honda xr150L? Thinking of biting the bullet and getting one soon for some trails north of tuscon, wanted to know if you’ve seen any or ridden them yourself?

I'd take the Honda Trail hands down over the Monkey. I've always rode full sized bikes and using a clutch is second nature to me but having the simplicity of an automatic clutch is nice for the type of bike that the Trail is , a fun adventure bike. Skeet you have a Suzuki DR 650 and I'd like to see you do more rides with it.

The Monkey has that cool factor only little bikes have (Retro styled- Big Mini bike) it's just fun. The Honda Trail is little bike cool but even more practical, Australia used them as "postie bikes" to deliver the mail because they're so reliable and can go almost anywhere. (because they're small, maneuverable and light) Too bad people in the USA don't drive better and weren't in such a hurry so you could ride these on the road safely, and not be run over. Does the new one still have the reserve gas tank? My friend had a MB5 as a kid his parents didn't want him to have a faster dirt bike but that thing was cool! It was like a moped but with more power and no pedals (that I can remember). It was kind of gutless but did most of what the other bikes could only slower and safer. It was kind of dorky in school but so much fun it was cool! The other bike I would love to have is the Yamaha dual sport my friend had not sure what size, I want to say 200cc. It was really cool too. Have a good one enjoy yourself and be safe!

You can ride either of these bikes on city streets in the good ol' USA. I wouldn't take one out one a highway or God forbid the freeway.

@@ralphwatten2426 People here don't respect others on the road or are always in a hurry. The interstates are kind of obvious because of the size/speed requirement. Back roads are safer but those little bikes get missed by people in traffic that's why some riders like to ride the center line.
