Good, honest review. I ride the Super Magna to work every Friday when I want a change from my GSR750. I've got a pack-rack and small saddlebags and it's so good, and they're somewhat period correct bits. Like you, my Super Magna is special to me and mine has a very important story for my wife and I. We own it because we want to, not because it's practical! 🤣 Keep up the good work dude!
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) Yeah I usually try to use it one day a week too, when my hip isn't really at me :) A nice, I've wanted to make a rack for mine for a while and some form of saddle bags :) Haha exactly, if I only ever bought stuff for their practicality I'd own a loooooooooooot less than I do currently :D I will try to!

I got out for a great ride and long motovlogging session in the sun today while out picking up my copy of Star Wars: Squadrons for my PS4 Pro. :) I took the long & scenic route home to celebrate me reaching the 300-mile engine break-in mark, and I blasted the backroad twisties like Rossi for a while, although in my mind I looked cool, but, when I review the video footage for the first time, I'm sure I'll barely be leaned over, and I rev-bombed two cool bridges. :)

I'm just back from a nice 100km spin on the GSXR :) No videos just riding it was lovely :) Ohhh nice. I'm still on my very old xbox one, currently playing oblivion again after beating Star Wars fallen order. Haha doesn't matter how you look once you felt cool eh :) That's what matters!

Great review, thank you. I have watched all your videos of the Super Magna, couse I plan to get one. Have looked at many different bikes, but the 87 (or 88) Super Magna really stand out for me. In my mind it look way way better than for example Custom, Virago and Intruder. But again, thanks for great reviews!!

awesome. looked right at home cruising on the motorway there. One point though...Scotland is actually the best place in the world when it's sunny ;) What I like about this bike is that it seems you can rag it a bit, have fun, but not be going the same kind of speeds you would be doing on your Gixxer and potentially die (or worse lose your license). Sissy bar is a great idea man. now...off to Ebay I go
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
Some forwards and taller bar and a nice cafe screen and it'll be even better :P Haha for now I cant agree cus I haven't ridden a bike there yet in the sun. Yet. That's it exactly you can completely wring it's neck and you're never going crazy speeds. The GSXR is definitely not in the same boat. Losing my license would be faaaaar worse! 😂 Danke, hopefully I can make one :) Do iiiiiit

You are having far too much fun.... I am amazed you manage to ride this the Magna. I have never ridden a cruiser style machine yet without crippling my back. I am sure Honda designed it as a traffic light bike, so it does very well down the twisties. Great fun. Good luck in your quest for another victim.
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
No such thing as too much, until you bin it 😂 To be honest it's not very comfy for me, the CBF is 10 times better. But with some new bars and a better seat it would be great so I'll do that eventually :) They definitely did. It's no tourer anyway that's for sure with the mid mounts etc. Thanks :)

@@TheGorillaBiker Can I ask u: I need new tires to handle curves and wet roads better. I have a rear 150/90-15 Duro. I was thinking maybe the Dunlop Qualifier but do u recommend a tire brand for front and rear? Also do u know the widest tire I can buy for front? I have 100/90-19 now.
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
I currently have Michelin Commander IIs and wouldn't recommend them for wet. Dunlops are good, I use Dunlops a lot and like them. The softer compound Metzelers are what I'll be going for next, whatever fits. Not sure what the widest would be, measure the narrowest point between the forks wherever it may be, that'll be your limit.

Talking about thirsty bikes, my 05 Rocket 3 (R.I.P) was good for low 20s for mpg and there's no being gentle with that throttle. Nobody has that much discipline. Personally I'd like to see you commute with a Grom. That's right the GB on a mfn Grom doing a commute. Cheers
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
A moments silence for the rocket. That's actually really good, call it 22.5 mpg or so that's like 10l per 100km. Not as heavy as you'd think for one of those beasts :) Haha that's the impossible challenge, it's like short shifting the Magna, not remotely a reasonable ask 😂 Hahaha tbh that'd be some fun!!
@crumblymal84793 жыл бұрын
Cool ! would you say your Magna is revy rather that torquey and what would she top out at , from what other things I have seen people do seem to rag them to the red line is this necessary ta make them go or just for the noise factor .I am thinkin that I am gonna have to get some down pipes specially made with two branch connectors cos my standard pipes were shot . also those roads over there look sooo quiet it must be heaven to ride . I want to be there : )
@TheGorillaBiker3 жыл бұрын
I would call the GSX-R revvy, the Magna is definitely more torquey to me, but that's the beauty of V4s they're kind of a great balance between both. They pull all the way to redline so if people are looking to go fast then it's the way to do it I suppose, I usually would naturally change a little lower in the rev range. Yeah I'll eventually have to do the same, I don't want to lose the noise tho!! Haha they were good in fairness! Soon!

The commuter perspective really ruins me (and the sales binaries at corporate dealerships) and you know how that rots one's judgment. I dream of owning less practical vehicles, Buell width seated nary a smooth idle and obnoxious ergonomics but I digress and have to be able to tie down a tool chest and lunch pail...even if I admire motorcycle backpacks...
