Honda Trail 90 - Will It Run?

Non running 1970 Honda Trail 90 assessment and start up.

Helpful video. Thanks for posting. Pulled my dads original 1969 CT90 out of the garage. It has not ran since 1983, 38 years. I used to ride it to football practice in high school. I'm working on the bike now. Just cleaned out rusty, flaking gas tank with evaporust and it came out beautifully. I saved the tank and it has no leaks. Ordered new gas lines, carb rebuild kit, air filter and new battery. Looking forward to get it running. The good thing is it has low milage just over 2,000 miles on it. It's been a nice covid lockdown project. Will go through the same steps when I try firing it up. Thanks again for a we done video.

I have the exact same 1970 Trail 90 in red. You're fighting the fuel hose routing because the fuel petcock is 180 degrees off. The hose barbs should be pointing in forward. Look how they are pointed at 17:20 I spliced my fuel filters in close to the frame to leave as much hose as possible to make the sweep into the carb.

Love that with all the knowledge and experience you have, you still have 'oops' moments like the rest of us and don't edit them out. Gas leak, not having plug in, leaving switch on... We've ALL been there and it's great to see such a wholesome video. Keep up the great content! Love it all.

Your assessment of the carb not being a 1970 honda was correct. I'm sure the floats were different in the OEM carb. Oh and the filter was a flat-screen on the OEM

No throttle ever when trying to start. And pumping the throttle does nothing. There’s no accelerator pump. Choke on, carb clean & fresh battery & it’ll start. Timing IS NOT OFF.

I’m not hating but I think on and off the throttle is a two stroke thing and it probably why it gave you a lot of trouble
