My 06 VFR was my first bike with hard bags, It was so nice just popping the bags off with the turn of a key to carry into the motel after a day of riding, and so much better to lock them back on and not mess with straps and tie downs like with soft bag in the morning. Loved my VFR, she would just eat up the miles while touring, and tear up the twisty road when you wanted to have some fun, Truly as they used to say, The gentleman's sport bike.

Thanks watching and your comment. Completely agree with you. It is a do it all bike. Mine came with the original Honda hard panniers and top box with inner bags which has proved to be very convenient.

Hello from Vancouver British Columbia Canada. Nice video Mark including the nice tunes at the end.Thank you for giving us a peek at the south of Sweden. It looks to be very nice. I would be remiss if I didn't thank you for sending a couple of really good hockey players and even better people awhile back. I'm speaking of Daniel and Henrik Sedin who played for our beloved Vancouver Canucks for about 20 years each and are still with the organization in an advisory capacity having retired a few years back. It is guys like them that have made me want to come over to Sweden and take a look around. I'm in the market for a bike and the Honda VFR with that VTEC engine is one that I am very interested in having. A wonderful piece of technology that surprises me in that other manufacturers never really picked up on the idea of how the VTEC works. The way that fuel prices are I believe that type of tech that doesn't open additional intake valves until they are really needed is a wonderful idea. I have yet to hear of anyone giving the VFR VTEC a bad review. I'm hoping to have one to ride in the very near future. Take care and happy riding Mark.

Thanks for watching and your comments Richard. Honda have always been on the forefront of technology and are still the biggest engine manufacturer in the world the world. The older VFRs will always be an iconic bike especially when it was released over 20 years ago. Hopefully you’ll fine a good example to test ride soon. Cheers!

I do have a 1999 VFR800, purchased it with 18,000 miles on it from a person who I can only describe as a garage queen. This bike is show room clean, complete exhaust system job, extremely well maintained and runs as if it were brand new. This bike was not set up to be a touring bike, but rather lets hop on it and tear up the town, it's quick, it's fast, it sounds amazing with a shorty on it.

Ive owned a heap of vfr's including a 1997 vfr750, 4 5th gen vfr800s and my current 2008 vfr800. I can afford to buy most new bikes if i like but have no interest as they do nothing for me. Ive modded the 2008 model with a power commandor 5 and dyno time which has massively smoothed out the power delivery and the 7000rpm dip is gone. Changed gearing to minus 1 on front and plus 1 on rear for extra poke. Fitted a pair of dominator mufflers which weigh bugger all and sound great. Removed tear foot pegs. Saved 6 kgs between the exhaust and pegs. Stiffer fork springs and a new rear yss shock with the rear raised by 10mm. Turns in much better. Fitted whitepower heated hand grips. Fitted some sticky tyres and she rocks. Go away with mates on newer bikes and keep up with them no worries. Did 2200kms round trip from Sydney Australia to the Phillip Island motogp in comfort. Brilliant kit

Hey Andrew, great vid. I have the same bike, mines an 04 mat black. If you like the bike stock, you'll love it moded. Put a gear indicator, on it, oxford heated grips, a battery meter-usb, a Sargent seat, and Delkvic slip ons, will totally transform the bike to awesome.

I'll second the Delkevik exhaust. The stock mufflers are hiding the most beautiful exhaust note. The new system makes it sing. It comes with removable baffles depending on your tastes, and it doesn't cost a lot. I love my '06 VFR! I can't imagine any other bike I'd rather have.

Hi Artur. Thanks for checking out my vid . I have another video showing my mileage. Mine has just passed 50 k km now so it's just run in. I ve had no problems in the 4 years I've had the bike. No bikes run here during the winter so a 20 year old bike looks like 10 if you look after them. Get one with a service history and you should be ok. Hondas usually age well. Good luck 🤞

I bought a 2008 VFR800 new in the crate in 2010 and is it relevant, does it keep up with newer bikes, etc.? I don't care. My VFR gets me to point A and back to point B as good as any other bike or car. Color, style, age, etc. doesn't matter. Years ago when I was married my ex family had a lake house. So I spent $$$$$ on a boat. After I spent the money I found out I could have bought an ugly yellow boat for $500. I was upset that she didn't mention to me that she wanted to sell me the boat. Had I known her that I would have never bought my boat I would have bought hers for $500 way less than what I bought mine for. If I had the ugliest wrecked bike ever and it was mechanically sound and inexpensive I'd buy it. Why? A bike is better than no bike.

Thanks for watching my video about the Honda. I guess the moral of your story is we all certainly don’t need to speed a fortune on a motorcycle. I agree with you completely, There are still so many older bikes out there which I could never afford before when new because of kids, house you name it. But these bikes which are in fantastic condition especially here when people take them of the road for the winter. Are available to me now. I sure have a list to get through without losing too much cash on the ones I resale. Ride safe and cheers to you!
