I just received some bar risers by Moto CNC from the UK, I live in the Netherlands. I thought the design was well thought through, but now I read in the comments below your video that people have experienced grave issues with these bar risers to such an extent that they even came off. That is of course the last thing that you want to happen to you as a motorcycle rider. How dependable are they really, I can't find an extensive review anywhere. Anyway, thanks Kevin for the video.

i used the moto cnc clamp type conversion,but the same bars as yours,renthal 758 low.i had some fiddling around to say the least.i didnt drill or cut the bars,used a couple of strips of thin roofing felt to secure the throttle housing,re routed the throttle cables to the left side of the right fork,and lengthened the stop light switch wires so i could stop the master cylinder hitting the fairing.i used the original bar ends from the clip ons.used rawl bolts,10mm,to secure them.had to rotate the brake and clutch hoses.but to do this requires grinding of the lugs.however.with your discount code the clamp type risers cost £93.used secondhand renthals,£25.all is good now.cheers for video.

Great video again Kev, been thinking of doing this for a while now but kept hearing stories of having to buy throttle cables from an 1100 pan european as they are longer, but that was using universal kits I believe. You mention in the video you cut some of the bars, how much was it. Will definitely be doing this mod now, thanks for the vid 👍
@KevsShed
@KevsShed 3 жыл бұрын
Go for it! I cut approximately 1 - 1 & 1/4 inches off each end, I just offered everything up to its final location and marked it all before I cut anything. No need to change cables or brake/clutch line with these bars. If you went for a higher set of bars then you may need to. I would expect that they would interfere with the body work at full lock though! 👍🤓

I’m just finishing this up on my 2008 VFR but I’m using the Moto CNC 43mm fork clamp style. I suppose they are universal to any bike with 43mm fork tubes. I can vouch for the quality. They are billet aluminum and they are beautifully made. Question if you don’t mind (and perhaps you will address this but I haven’t finished watching yet) What is the total width of the bars you have, excluding bar ends? Thank you, your videos are always useful!

Great work Kev, I have Gen mar type risers on my 5th gen and have never been worried about the clip ons grab on the fork tubes, Moto CNC don't have a kit like this for the 5th gen, I'll be interested to hear a ride report, I'd imagine they'd be better like this when filtering/commuting, on the open road I'm not so sure, think I'd rather be leaned forward and tucked down a bit like the oem set up.

Hi Kev. Did you have any issue with the stearing lock?
@KevsShed
@KevsShed 3 жыл бұрын
It's funny that you say that as Moto-CNC got in touch with me to ask the same question! It would appear that there is an issue with the steering lock when using this yoke and Moto-CNC are looking into it as we speak. I didn't even notice, mainly because I never use the steering lock, in my opinion it is the most easily overcome piece of security on a motorcycle but I know that some do use it for peace of mind.

Hey Kev, I just sub'd, but I should have long ago. This might be just what I need to make this bike perfect for me. I had some cubital tunnel paresthesia on our last 6400km trip through Canada, even with Heli Bars. I could probably use almost 2 inches of rise (. Do you think this might do the trick? (189cm tall).

@KevsShed 2 жыл бұрын
I’m 6’4” so around 196cm and I find that there is less aching in my wrists at the end of a ride, the bike overall feels a lot more comfortable all round, almost how a bike marketed as a Sports Tourer probably should be in the first place! Hope you manage to improve your comfort 👍🏻
