Honda XL 350R Cold Start And Walk Around

First start of the year for the old 1984 Honda XL 350R. It's been sitting in the shed since last fall. The weather was quite nice, so we decided to start it up and take a little ride. (video to follow on the ride). It is always a bit hard to start after sitting, but if you lean the bike over until the gas comes out of the overflow, it seems to help quite a bit.

Cool bike ! I have Xl 350 r '88 and I'm always suprised by the performance. Making 140 km/ph is not a problem for my toy :) By the way , I have never use it in mud terrain , I use iut just for city riding once a week . Cheers from Wrocław.Poland

Nice shape, the red is still nice and bright. You must have put a coat of wax on her at one time or another. I had an 86, that year they made them in white. Looked pretty sharp with the blue seat. That was back in 92 when I bought her. Wish I still had her but love my Grizz now. Will be posting videos sometime soon. Enjoy all your Videos btw. Keep them coming

Dang cubbee I have the exact same bike..but mine is the XL350L..MY carb slide stuck and I broke the Intake Getting it un stuck..awesome bike..

@cubbeezx Unfortunately not , cause I'm restoring it now . The funny thing is that mileage is 65 000 kilometres and i have replaced custom timing chain haha ! I dont have time now because of my school exams , but after that I will post something interesting :)

Actually these old bikes always have that 'valve tick' when they first get started. give them a quick warm up and the sound goes away.

It started pretty easy. I would like to put my KDX on the road, but i wouldent be able to do halh the ruf trail rideing with the DOT leagle tires they ake you use. I hate those things. Nice old bike.
