Detailed description and comparison (Owner review) of the Honda XL750 Transalp and comparison to the KTM 790 and Suzuki 800. Better even than I thought. #motorbike #hondamotorcycles #xl750

I have ordered almost exactly the same list of accessories as you have on your bike, plus the heated hand grips. I am totally in love with it after 1000 km of riding. The new Transalp is absolutely bloody brilliant!

That is the exact spec I would have. Great looking bike, not stupid big with a nice sized engine. 750 is plenty.

Barkbusters have compatible kit for the transalp.Many owners have installed them and it's a very good alternative for protecting the side panels.

Adjustable Suspension, how many Riders will use this ( +-20% ), and which are able to set it up correctly ( +-10% ). This bike straight out the box is for most riders top notch, even riding on Gravel / Offraod. The 10% offreal offroaders will look for an other brand, or upgrade suspension on the Transalp. Regarding the engine modes, I ride in Standard and use the User Mode for some "Offroad trips". My average consumption is about 4.2 Liters per 100 km's.

Spot on! Fully agree. I am hovering around 4liter, but that is side roads mainly, little highway. Enjoy the bike!! 🤓👍✌️

Never knew a motorcycle had a steering wheel. LOL. The handguards are only wind guards. KTM does not bring the reliability this Honda will have. Tenere T7 is top heavy and has a tiny fuel tank.
@secondhandbiker

Yes 😅 driving instead of riding. I like the engine very much. The T7 is great, but taller and more off-road oriented. The new Yamaha World Traveller has a bigger fuel tank👍 , I love the Honda just like it is. Thanks ✌️

hi, I had the same bike, registered on 27 July 2023 and I sold it after 20 days. Aesthetically I like it, but unfortunately, the suspension is too soft, you need to change cartridges and rear mono, and the expense is not cheap; the bike moves a lot and the turbulence is felt a lot, even at only 100km/h. Another thing I didn't like is the engine, at low revs (up to 5000) you always have to downshift one or two gears because it has no "shoulder". In my opinion, a touring bike must push well at low revs, you don't go at 7-8,000 rpm at 140 km/h. In short, apart from the aesthetic aspect, I don't like it.

At 63 years, I may have a different view on bikes. I have had over 20 bikes over the years and am no enduro king. Also, I am only 1,70m so my impression of wind may be different from a taller person. On this one there is a touring windshield, so the higher version, but even the original screen is fine, I like it even better. I did an off-road tour yesterday and the suspension does not feel too soft, but again this may be due to my weight. The engine has limited torque at the lower end, which I like off-road, because it reacts more subtly. At higher rpm it is really fast though. Curious to know what you consider a better bike. Probably a KTM 890 R. I like the new Suzuki 800, it has more torque at low range. Enjoy the ride!

@@secondhandbiker I think windscreen high or low is dependent on someones own hight. Me I am quite tall. For smaller persons things might be different . Even better would be a windscreen which you can move up and down.

I have the same bike and same tires, I notice between 45-75km/h that there are quite some vibrations in the handlebars and if i let go off the handlebar my handlebar will shake from left to right. Im pretty sure it comes from the tires, ive seen nobody else mention this so i wonder if u have experienced this?
@secondhandbiker
@secondhandbiker 11 ай бұрын
Thank you, if your handlebars shake, there is a problem with wheel alignment or rims rather than tires. I do not have that issue. The only issue with Metzeler is the noise. Fingers crossed. Or just drive faster 👍😎✌️

Your English Language is exceptional. I assume that you are not a native speaker, but your turn of phrase and use of vocabulary is more comprehensive and fluid than many native speakers. I enjoyed this personal review which covers pretty much everything that a prospective owner may wish to consider. This is particularly so given that there are many other technical reviews available, and so we needed a more personal perspective. Thank you. Stay safe.

@@secondhandbiker i own a tiger 850 sport (same engine of tiger 900) for a year. I don't like it much as the bike vibration too much at 6000rpm. Today i test the xl750, the front end quite like compared to tiger 850. Quite easy to ride than tiger. But the gear feeling short ? It's quite agile, light feel. I am going to get xl750 next week.

@@JayBee-cr8jm I've riden both of them, and I find the 800de headlight to be a little bit brighter, but it doesn't have any amount of spread, it's like a line, and that's it, it's almost feels illegal. The Transalp headlight isn't that bright as the DE but it does have a wider spread of light and it felt more comfortable riding at night than the DE. Both of them could use some aux lights, but on Suzuki the aux lights are more mandatory than optional.

I think that I’ve probably seen every Transalp review on the web. Hence, I don’t need many more detailed technical reviews, or “let’s send it” videos. What we have here is a guy and his bike. For me, that’s refreshing and helpful.
