Honda XL350 1977 Will it run?

My very first set of wheels was a 75 350XL. I RODE that bike to school, work, and went accross the Washington Idaho border to visit my grandparents. It was my first taste of real freedom and I'll never forget it. I want to ride on again sometime, im 56 and dealing with cancer and lung issues, and my wife is dead set against it trying to keep me alive, but....I still think about finding a 350 Xl or a 500 Xl early 80's something of that Honda Enduro type. Just so easy to ride, i had a Honda V45 magna, and i hated that thing, it rode you, it was so different, and NOT intuitive at all. But that 350 was just like being on a bike for me.

@@flipfix I haven't really done that, I get quite a few questions about that. I usually just answer them as they come along. Maybe I should address those in a video someday. It's really not any formal instruction, I was just a farm kid that learned to fix machinery, tractors and such. Got into dirt bikes around the age of 12, worked at a Suzuki, Hodaka dealership in the early 70's. But really just learned fabrication, welding and machining from my dad. It's been a long road but I'm doing what I want to in retirement, and having a good time, my wife talked me into doing the KZbin thing. Thanks again John for the shout out.

Im 43 now. For my 40th my Girlfriend brought me an old 76 xl350. I came home from working away and She said there was something in the shed i need to see and there it was. I started it, stopped it, then pulled it apart and rebuilt it. Its amazing to ride and showroom condition with only 11,000km on it. All original other than the exhaust and black painted side engine cases. I learnt alot about bikes during the rebuild. Now i want an old cb.

I just bought a 74 XL 350 that's I'm going to turn into a get around town bobber. Mine's is in a lot worse shape than this one though, that's why I'm going to bob it. The motor was locked up when I bought it but it was just from sitting, I soaked it in some MMO for a couple days and it loosened right up but It still needs a complete tear down and rebuild, I'm a certified Motorcycle Tech so the tear down and rebuild is no problem, There's just not enough parts out there either repop or used to build it back original but it's worth saving.
