As a previous owner of a few Honda products, I'm pretty sure the fit and finish of this jet is about 100x greater than any vehicle they make.

First of all - Honda are an amazing company - Different to all the other manufacturers, you just feel the love in a Honda.. Yes they are a business and yes making a profit is their goal but it doesn't stop there. From a design perspective it is difficult not to love Honda. Just look at how much more intelligently designed that beautiful little plane is to anything else out there.

+Dan Sertich I think there was a bit of tongue in cheek there. The "Screens are GARMIN" like he was talking about a monitor for his home theater. He wouldn't know Garmin, from Collins. While the Triple EFIS displays are gorgeous to look at, the total lack of ANY analog instrumentation has me more than a little uncomfortable. Power failures do occur, electrical fires do occur, and if you dont have any backup at all, you have the aviation equivalent to a Crotch Rocket for six. Not understanding that the positive tactile feedback of rotary switches is expected, and necessary. While a nice walk through of this mock up, he is truly a babe in the woods or in this case the cockpit. The little boy humor in the lav, was by far too much. All in all though if I was in his place I probably would sound pretty fan boy as well!!
@olasek79729 жыл бұрын
+Matthew Elyash These are at least double/triple redundant systems so there is plenty of backup plus the standby AI visible just at the top. Electricity is also backup-ed with dual generators, batteries, etc. All backups instruments are digital, I don't understand why backup has to be analog, these days even some smaller a lot cheaper piston aircraft don't have any analog backups. As a GA pilot I don't need analog systems to feel comfortable.

I remember going to an airshow as a kid when they first proposed this. Amazing how long it took to get to production (must have been AT LEAST 15 years ago). At the time it was going to be 1 million dollars. The engines weighed 86-lbs or something, that was a big deal. This was at the Oshkosh Airshow, not sure the year, and my memory sucks.

The Hondajet is a light business jet. It costs a lot less than the larger private jets and isn't meant to be an airliner. It fits well into its category, and is nicely done. Engine placement because of vibration and an increase in room to put your stupid golf clubs??? More like an increase in aerodynamics and reduction in drag, thus increasing range and fuel efficiency. also note that they use composite material on the body, so having the engine on wings does help a lot with room and reduce extr reinforcement on the body which will add weight to the jet.
