Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for making these videos. You helped someone who did nothing but spark plugs and oil changes do a transmission replacement. The car is on the road and shifts smooth as butter. Longest part was finding a decent transmission for a decent price. Managed to find one for $675 with 160k miles on it. So lets hope to get another 100k out of her, and perhaps avoiding Jiffy Lube will make the thing last a bit longer this time. Still got a few kinks to sort out, such as the gear shifter sort of "Gliding" into place and not clicking like it should. But other than that, every bolt and nut seems to have found a home. Thanks man, I appreciate you and I'm sure I speak for most

It really depends on how much is in the transmission already. A typical drain and refill is about 3.5 qts, but that isn't all the fluid in the trans. If some more fluid comes out during removal/installation it could take more. I would remove the drain plug once transmission is installed to make sure it's "drained" then install 3.5 qts and continue to fill from there as needed until you reach the full mark on the dipstick.

Hey man you are the best mechanic for those Honda civic 2001 to 2005 I have three of those and now I want to change the engine and the transmission the transmission is automatic So I bought both engine and transmission on the Jdm motor But everybody said then get the check engine light because the transmission Is Japanese And I have Usa transmission so before I put on the car I wanted to ask you what should I do? The guys at the Jdm Told me that if I change all the sensor and Solenoid I’m gonna be fine I don’t want to do the job twice so you’ve done so many Jdm Motor and transmission what should You recommend me Thank you in advance

From my experience the jdm trans for the 01-05 throws a code regardless of what you do.

@@hondaresource seems like a gamble to me. Unless getting them from a reputable yard I guess.

@@koriseitz2629 I generally only get them with a warranty

@@hondaresource I suppose that works lol. In my experience the stuff always takes a poo right when the warranty is up lol
