I suppose this is the case in America. Where I’m from internships are during the semester; 5-6 hour work days and studying at the same time. You must study in the same city as the office location. Internship programs in BB last about 2 years and they just renew the contract to a full time offer once you graduate. On the other hand elite boutique banks like rothschlid look for interns to work during their last semester.

Too late; Graduate GPA - less than 3.5 None Target school. Above 25 you can't land an IB analyst role but can become an Associate. No IB experience in school (No internship) No MBA No IB needed skills BUT SOME COMPANIES MIGHT STILL HIRE YOU.
@thumpertorque_2 жыл бұрын
Why is it that they have an age limit for analyst? Isn't becoming an associate harder?
@kelvinkuzy2 жыл бұрын
@@thumpertorque_ they don't have an age limit, it's just harder to become an analyst at that age and many investment banks will see it as a con, due to the hours and I'm guessing they want younglings without any responsibility and being older might affect that. But you can always go back to school for 2 years to become an associate. Being an associate requires I think about 2-3 years of IB analyst experience or an MBA (I guess that's harder)
@thumpertorque_2 жыл бұрын
@@kelvinkuzy When you say going back to school do you mean going for a bachelor's degree hoping to get an intern in your freshman year?

@kelvinkuzy2 жыл бұрын
@@thumpertorque_ You have to at least have a degree (In a math-related field like finance, stats, computer science, and so on), if you don't have one you need to go back to school and study one of the courses I mentioned above. If you have a degree and it's not in these fields, apply for a master's degree (MBA).

so i’m not from the states but where i’m from ive gone to a school that has one of the best accounting schools in the nation. i also finish my degree in the junior year but due to the covid implications i have yet to done any IB specific internships but have experience doing taxation and accounting internships. I also plan on taking the exams to become a CFA, as their hours are not as straining as IB. With all that in mind, can those things still be beneficial to an IB firm in the states if I wish to go into IB at one of the bigger firms? Thanks
@TheBryanJun3 жыл бұрын
I'm not the biggest expert on international to US opportunities - I'd say your priorities are making sure the banks you have in mind sponsor international students. On your point about CFA's, I believe they're more on the credentials side than an actual role (not something comparable to IB) unless the country you're at is different than the US system!
@jdjd6053 жыл бұрын
