For everyone who is wondering, Elena studies law, so it could be that those techniques don’t suit majors that are more STEM related, you would need to do more than just writing and revisiting summaries.

how do you financially support your studies like how do you make a living, just off of youtube?

not sure about law, but being a PhD is completely different from being a "normal" student. You will most likely work in a shared office space, you don't have to go to lectures and you can be very flexible with your worktime. Also you are (usually) not told what to do and when to do it, you have to figure that out yourself

I also summarize but I hate my handwriting and just spend hours and hours rewriting. This is why I use Notion 😂 it may not be handwriting, but it helps me a lot 😅

That’s true „only“ summaries don’t suffice for STEM-majors, you would need to do a lot of practice papers and exercises. But she studies law and there learning with only summaries or Q-cards is suitable.

Lovely video but how to cope with listening to the lecturer, understanding the concepts and taking notes at the same time ? What's your best strategy ? Do you note everything the lecturer is saying ? Thanks

Hi! I usually note down as much as I can from the slides as they're very comprehensive! But when I notice that I don't really understand what's going on, I focus on just listening instead and I complete my notes when I get home (the slides are shared with us after the lecture). I'll often also add a lot of what the lecturer says and how I understand the concept, as well as any questions on the topic that I wanna research. But to be honest, I always notice that my lecture notes are probably longer than they need to be - when I'm writing summaries, I often think to myself that half of what I noted down would probably do, so I think my strategy could use some improvement :)
