What a wonderful insight into the early days of Hot Rodding and to be able to listen first hand to the memories of someone who was there from day one. Now here we are in 2020 and witnessing a resurgence of those early Hotrods, the desire to hunt down those period components. Wonderful interview with Mr Tom Hunt & at 83 years young, his recollections of those times was a joy to hear. Definitely worth watching. Thanks for sharing, from the U.K.

I disagree with Mr. Hunt on one point. He said there was only one guy in Chattanooga who could degree a cam. Buck Jacks not only could degree a cam but actually ground his own cam profiles. He also happened to build the engine for Honests custom '34 Ford pictured on his wikipedia page. I hadn't heard the names Joe Martin or Gober Sosebee in a long time! My dad, Jack Phillips, talked about Honest a lot and said Honest had the best biscuits and gravy of any place in Chattanooga - and if you insisted on sipping coffee too long, you might be on the losing end of a hammer.
