To be clear, EA is a publisher, not a studio. The studio responsible for this is Motive, which previously put together the campaign for Battlefront 2 (unremarkable but arguably the only part of that game that actually worked properly and met expectations at launch), and then went on to make Squadrons, a genuinely great flight sim. I don't know of anyone that hates Motive.

There's other cool mechanical changes like your EVA suit you spend the whole game in actually has thrusters to control yourself in zero G, instead of having to launch yourself off everything and spin out of control when you touch a dismembered foot.

This remake is awesome. I can't really find any flaws with it during my three playthroughs, especially given how the fixed the stupid turret segments. Even the Impossible mode was awesome as it genuinely made me afraid while playing again, something that I wasn't sure a remake could do. I really hope this brings the franchise back to its former glory!

The remake is good, but it still feels clunky & awkward like all 3rd person shooters; definitely not worth £70.....

This is one of those remakes you didnt know you needed until you got it. I remember playing the first only when it was night and the house was empty just to intensify the experience.

Next you'll do one for the Metriod Prime remaster, and it will be almost word for word for this one. Two weeks later: Ooor you'll lambast it's gameplay and insist that you'll only like it if you're nostalgic for the original release. That works too, I guess.

Well, the difference is that this has a lot of gameplay tweaks and changes. The Metroid Prime remaster is 99% identical to the original in terms of gameplay, aside from the new control options. It really is "just" a facelift. (But a damned good one.)

In the last update, they added new QOL options like the camera tilting down when you jump so you can see where you'll land and the camera tilting forward again once you start moving, plus a few more. I'm surprised no gaming sites have mentioned the latest changes since the update a few days ago.

I only played a couple of rounds of Z Ball because I wanted to get back in the game, and I like how they did the Shooting Range. In the OG I aced it every time to get the node, but in the Remake, just as you get started, the Things show up, and you have to fight them and they're trying to kill you, until finally the people running the Range announce, "Due to technical difficulties, the Shooting Range is now closed!" 😸
