I have a voice acting background and have to say that Yuri Lowenthal's performance is Spidey 2 has been such an inspiration for me since the Prince of Persia Trilogy. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him and the late Kevin Conroy are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

The thing that I couldn't get my head around is how the symbiote turns Peter into black suit Spidey, but somehow turns Harry into venom. I assumed they were going to make Kraven venom as a way to survive his disease.

I think it's because Peter is a natural boy's scout while harry have some darkness inside him. which made him more compatible with Venom. if you noticed Peter turned to Chaotic good with venom power he still wanted to save the city, but more uncompromising selfish about it. I think that's why the symbiote weren't able to completely take over and became Venom maybe given time it would have taken over peter. while Harry turned to Chaotic Evil who wants to assimilate everyone one. Harry completely gave in to the Symbiote at the start and only later during the final fight that Harry recovered to some of his senses and realize what he is doing is wrong and asked to be killed by peter in order to save the city.

It initially turned into agent venom suit for harry, the reason why venom shows up only after harry put on the symbiote the second time around is because venom no longer needs to deceive anyone, harry already lost control of himself to his emotions, so it's easy to take over him. If he revealed himself from the very beginning, he doesn't have a chance to steal the meteorite since everyone will be aware of the danger of using the symbiote

Were I to hazard a guess, it's a combination of the Symbiote getting combat experience while riding with Peter and bitter resentment over the Symbiote's favorite host rejecting him, combined with Harry's own mental problems, causing the Symbiote to hulk out.

100% true. My mom and grandmother passed away a few months apart back in 2018. Instead of going self-destructive or retreating into a shell, I took that emotion and energy and gave it an outlet: studying. By the next year, I had gotten my IT certification and a new job in my company. It even helped me process their loss, because I knew how proud they would be of me for both the new job and the broader notion of them having done a great job preparing me to stand on my own without them. It still hurts, and I still miss them, but I'm in a much better place because I chose to process the grief instead of hiding from it. My only complaint is that the Web of Shadows Arc needed to be longer, maybe with some sidequests that shed light on how the citizens of New York were dealing with the symbiote threat. Maybe helping cops ecort emergency supplies, or Oscorp distributing sonic beacons to create safe zones. I'm a little worried Miles is OP, but if Peter keeps the Anti-Venom I guess they're even. MJ was 100% better in this, and I hope the next game emphasizes Peter and MJ building a family together as he balances being Spider-Man and being a husband

It's a great game. Yuri should've definitely won the voice actor award. I've never played a videogame, where an actor lived so much into his role as Yuri did for this sequel. Nevertheless, since it didn't win any awards for some reason, it doesn't change the fact that this is a great game. Regarding where the Avengers in this story, in the first game when Spidey takes a photo of Avengers Tower he says that the Avengers are always on the west coast. From the moment Venom first appears to the end of the main story, only a couple of days have passed. If this had gone on for longer, like a few weeks, then yes - other heroes should have showed up to stop Venom and the symbiotes. Besides, who wants to play a Spider-Man game where other heroes show up and solve everything?

Look at web of shadows (or even ultimate spiderman which had Wolverine face off against venom when u actually play as venom in same game not as a fking spinoff) which this game ripped off from & basically speedrun that game in second half. The older spiderman games had some of the Avengers like Wolverine , Black widow , even MOON KNIGHT and they still got symbioted in Web of shadows so it's not excuse for Insomanic to add the Avengers or introduce Wolverine or X-Men.

Full disclosure I do play dnd and I really do think Baulders gate deserved Goty. Between the voice acting and choices I really love the game. That being said Spiderman 2 kicked ass. It was really fun and they somehow made the webswinging even more fun and awesome. I definitely think it deserved some rewards. It was a fantastic game. That being said this is just my opinion and people are free to feel differently. Honestly I'm less concerned about the awards and just more excited that we got a few really great games this year. Either way those games are both wins for gamers.
