It wasn't so bad. At least in the last game, you could equip whatever pins whenever you want. Here, you're locked out of using certain pins because they happen to have the same input as another pin you currently have equipped. It's so restricting.

@@MrMegaSuperDuperMe The thing is, in TWEWY, if a lot of your pins have the same or similar inputs, you would end up using a pin you might not have wanted to use. In NEO, if the pins have the same input, they’re both used at once(though you still need to make sure the pin attacks don’t interfere with each other). Also, the button limit enforces a bit of variety, which is a good thing in my opinion

You can’t say “from the mind” when Nomura only acted as creative producer and character designer Tatsuya Kando is the series director. Give him the credit rather than trying to put everything on Nomura

Afaik, the concept of TWEWY came from Nomura. He pitched the idea and Kando made it come true.

@@kitewashere I can’t find a source that says Nomura specifically pitched the idea, but for argument’s sake let’s be hypothetical and say that was true. That still doesn’t mean that Nomura should be getting the same amount of credit for The World Ends With You as he should for Kingdom Hearts when he’s done less work with the former than the latter Shinji Hashimoto is the one who pitched the idea of Kingdom Hearts to Disney yet you rarely see people throw his name around as much with KH as you see people doing Nomura’s name with TWEWY. In fact both Nomura and Hashimoto serve as creative producers for TWEWY. The only difference is that Nomura also does the character designs like he does for various other Square Enix titles. And as far as I can tell you shouldn’t be giving character designers credit over the actual directors of the games and/or series

@@MegaJACproductions I’m aware of the team of four that got this project started, but the issue is that anytime Nomura works on a title they want to credit him the most with it. You hardly ever see Tatsuya Kando (director), Tomohiro Hasegawa (co-director), Takeshi Arakawa(planning director) or Sachie Hirano(writer) get credited as much as Tetsuya Nomura. TWEWY is like a side project for Nomura in comparison to the amount of work he’s done on Kingdom Hearts, yet so many people treat Nomura’s work on TWEWY as equal to the work he’s done on KH

Okay I'm playing TWEWY on my 3ds right now.. and as much as I adore this game, as much as I'm still enjoying what must be my 5th playthrough by this point.... I can't stop laughing at how uncomforably accurate the analogies to it's control scheme is XD I'm choking at 'furiously scribbling like a 15th century composer' as I'm using a set with two different scratch gesture pins, a slash pin, and a slash up pin XD.

Interestingly, I like the gameplay in the first one better. While this is less neck-pain, Rindo's Replay ability makes it feel like you lost your savestate and have to replay a level. Nagi's dive is fun but reduction-chain bossfights are frustrating as hell if you die later on in the chain. And I'm almost done the game and still not sure how exactly Fret's Remind works gameplay-wise. Maybe this is just my personal bias though because the only game style I'm noticeably good at is bullet hells. Very funny and accurate video though.
