I’ve been shaving my head with the Leaf razor for almost 2 years, and after trying out over 30 different double edge razors, as well as all sorts of cartridge razors and electric razors, I can confidently say the Leaf is the single best tool available on the market at the moment for head shaves. Yea, there’s a little learning curve, but after a few shaves you’ll have it dialled and the results are far and away superior to any cartridge razor, with a smoother finish, longer time before regrowth, no ingrown hairs or razor bumps or irritation, and the cost savings over a year, for example, are self-explanatory.

How does this compare to the Thorn for head shaves?

Good trick to keep your blades fresh longer is give them a dunk in isopropyl alcohol after shaving. It'll remove buildup and residue and prevents corrosion. Thank you for the review!

The Leaf does an amazing job at shaving close, but will take off anything that is irregular. Its got a serious bite to it when hitting a bump that's not flush on the head. It doesn't allow for fine control like its sister razors, but works well.

I shave both my head and face, will it do a good job if I use it for both? Or should I use a different razor for my face?

mine broke after 2,5 years, the spring system of the pivoting head to be precise. at the time i bought the twig as well and i started using that. the twig takes definitely more time but shaves better, doesn't clog as easily and it's way less aggressive on your skin. the only drawback which is valid for both are their handles and the material. for what i've understood it's not stainless steel.

Why did you neglect to mention one solitary detail about how it actually shaves, how close it cuts, how well protected, or not, it is against nicking etc?

get the thorn, shaves just as good, it is more durable, the leaf 3 blade will not last you more than a year, thousands of people had their leaf fall apart, its the screw nob that breaks, go with the thorn

not well made, mine fell apart after 6 months, the thorn razor is more durable, the Leaf was an excellent shave though
