There is a something in experimental songs that in the first time it's always making the listener not sure what they are hearing, but later on the song becoming comfortable to the ear. This is what happening to me everytime when aespa doing a comeback

exactly, even tho i pre ordered savage i was like so dissapointed with the chorus and stuff, but then after hearing it more i noticed it got stuck in my head. Same was for next level, that song was so weird on first listen but then so catchy. The only aespa major song i liked from first listen was black mamba lol. I guess with aespa you really need to listen a few times to like it. The cyberpunk dancebreak is my favorite tho :D

Tbh, i was disappointed with Girls. I was expecting more, the song is underwhelming and messy af especially the chorus part. The background music and instruments are loud af tho. SM really did Aespa dirty this time. Girls is 4/10 for me. Savage is way better than Girls.

The song is fire, the vocals, raps and choreography. I don't consider the song as a downgrade after Savage. But since this generation of kpop prioritize the "trendy" parts of the song, I wonder which part they actually want to make it becomes trendy. Kinda worried for that but I had the same thought back then with Savage but at the end I was the one repeating the "I'm a savage" parts lmao so I'll keep listening to the song first and watch how it grows to the general public. But in short, I like the song.

It has the same feeling as we had before, dreamcatcher's maison. Both doesn't have any bass drop, but it makes it different apart from any other kpop music, so they're kinda unique and cool. I like the different vibes of the both song.

@@metaiicc Not exactly as hyperpop as you might expect every single time from them but it has cyberpunk and futuristic elements, which defines Aespa. People hated Next Level and Savage but those songs eventually grew on them. I even see more people liking Girls than hating it than previous releases. For b-sides, they always said they wanted to try songs like ICU and they did it. I am just glad that it wasn’t pre released like Illusion. If we are going to nitpick, Illusion is the most loyal to their previous sounds. Girls deviates from that a little but overall a BOP.

@@metaiicc Is new but not new at the same time. It has the futuristic vibe with some different sounds (experimental, like aespa has always been), but same at the same time as the other title tracks. I literally have a playlist with the title tracks only and all of them work so well together, and almost sound the same. If you started being a fan some time ago, i guess you will like most of the songs that has that vibe cause that's why you started being a fan in the first place, i doubt someone will be a fan cause of their looks only (there's some like that, but these people are a minority)

also the way that this sounds very experimental is what makes it sound very AESPA to me. they don't have any songs that sound too similar to each other. the way they mix different elements from different genres is their own group color.

The chorus was not effective at all and same goes for choreo .

@@kaziam4318 I can say so because I am not into dubstep music or listens to the song just for the chorus like what happens in case of other groups specifically 4th gen groups .....I am more into r&b, rock, acoustic, electro pop and metallic sounds with good vocals and vocal tones which is why I liked it. And being a girl group they are pulling this genre at par with any boy group out there and are better from some that I know and have seen. EXO being my ultimate, it's hard to find groups which matches my taste in music.....aespa, dreamcatcher, bp, rv and gidle are the only girl groups and skz, viction, nct, cix are the only boy groups that I can listen to. Indeed a subjective choice.

I think the reason why aespa didn't go for experimental song that have structure like savage & next level is because they're focusing on western market. In my taste, this one is my favorite title track so far, and the music video production is so cool. I think the pantera tshirt that Giselle wore in savage is a give away that their next cb song would have a metal element to it. I have the same feeling with savage when I first heard it but this time I have more goosebumps. Winter's high note reminds me of Taeyeon's high note in step back. My honest opinion about this song First listen : em meh, kinda ok 2nd listen : i had to rewind some parts and digest the structure of the song Now : addicted, the best title track from then after Black Mamba (for me) I didn’t like it at first, maybe because the structure of the track is quite normal compared to Next Level and Savage, but then it definitely grows on me and I can’t stop listening now. The part where after chorus, the “hondon sogeseo pieona” very very satisfying to listen after a hard drop chorus. And Winter’s “binnal jeonjae” right before last chorus also very satisfying to listen.

It's an ok song for me. The instrumental sounds like something that could've been on NCT127's kick it album or the repackaged one with punch. I like savage way more but I'm not comparing them cause they have different sounds but savage was more my taste. The song was also reminiscent of GOT step back in terms and both sound and structure (which I know people say it's an SM thing- which is just a lazy excuse to me). It seemed like it was a rejected GOT debut song but they went with step back instead and gave girls to AESPA. Nothing is wrong with that but just don't make it so obvious. Overall it was a decent song.

i think this is one of their best title track alongside NL and BM. I can say this is actually giving BM's vibes. Savage is kinda messy but a good messy. so far my rank for their title track . Aespa to me is all about the "wow" factor. There was none of it here. MV is standard quality but nothing special. The song is flat. Vocals were good enough but not much you can do with the song. They did not own their parts, any member could have sung any part. The adlibs felt forced in, like "we must throw somewhere a NingNing and Winter adlib". And finally, it felt too long. I got kind of bored, which is the opposite of what k-pop is all about. Best part: the editing. Sad and disappointed is how I feel, but I will keep supporting the girls.

this song has MAJOR early 2000s rock feel. the intro + pre chorus with the piano parts is incredibly reminiscent of being me to life by evanescence and i am OBSESSED with it. i think anyone who might’ve had an emo phase (like me lmao) or was big into that era of music in the west (linkin park, evanescence, three doors down, etc.) is gonna really love this. savage was not my favorite ever, but this title track MORE than makes up for that
