All three of the main vocalist in EXO can be described by no end of superlatives, all interchangeable between them, but very generally my perspective is that Chen is the vibrance and life, D.O. is the soul and steadiness and Beakhyun is the heart and spirit. When they harmonise together it is the most beautiful thing.

Chen is undoubted the best singer in exo technically and in kpop I can just remember like four or five idols who are better than him (two of them are from SM). He is not an idol who learned how to sing. He is a singer who learned how to be an idol. His vocal range is INSANE. He is capable in every singing aspect and not just hold the highest notes in exo, but the lowest as well. Chen, as a tenor, has also one of the most developed lower ranges among kpop idols and I'm pretty sure he is better than a lot of baritones from 3rd generation idols. He is the best male singer of his generation, for sure. Baekhyun is the most versatile singer in exo. Period. The man can sing every single genre and will do this very well. He has a really wild range and his falsettos are like heaven Kyungsoo (my favorite vocalist among them) owns r&b and soul. As far as I know he is the most agile voice among tenors (idols) and his addlibs and riffs and runs... he really knows how to do that. He has a really touching voice and sings with so much passion... SM really put them in one group and I think this is unbelievable. They are really good and different at the same time. Exo captivated me with their vocals and I will always be here for them (sorry if I wrote something wrong, my first language is Portuguese)

Definitely, he even said once he didn't want to be an idol because of the stereotype of idols (not singing well hshfgs) until he heard a song from Shinee that made him change his mind, he was a singer first, then he learned how to be an idol

I've never realized the similarity of Chen and Onew's voice before you pointed it out. They do have the same youthfullness. Although, the difference is that Onew's voice can also excel as Alto aside from being High Tenor and Chen specifically excel in Soprano aside from being a High Tenor (at least from what I am hearing). And Onew's voice suits Operas/Musicals meanwhile Chen suits Artist/Balladeer

Chen recognized as A+ singer in Korea.. Even before when korean public doubted EXO as singer but they recognized his voice as good singer, after Miracle On December release the main vocalist start getting recognition too as A+ singer.

I love this song so much. If I remember correctly, Chen wasn’t supposed to be on the EXO-K version of the song but when he recorded his Mandarin part for EXO-M’s version the producers were blown away & had to have him for the Korean version as well. To “balance” it out they had Baekhyun record the song in Mandarin as well & he appears with Chen & Luhan (doing D.O.’s part) in the EXO-M MV. (I think they went back & forth with various options. I know when they performed this in China (after Luhan left) they had Lay sing D.O.’s part- which I think was originally supposed to be his).

06:07 - yes, the focus on xiumin is because ICE is his superpower and that necklace is the symbol of his power. You can see that although all 3 vocalists in this song are obviously sad, they seem to have a feeling that matches with their lines: d.o. and baekhyun seems to be thankful but chen looks to have more regrets than the other members, that's why i think he's voice is more intense in this song.
