Taeyeon is definitely diving into new a new genre of music with GOT. Back in the late 2000’s-early 2010’s, the trend (which kinda started from Wonder Girls’ early music) was to have choreographies that were catchy and easy to memorize, hence the reason why Gee and Oh BLEW UP in SK at the time, while Into the New World only became iconic for its hard choreo AFTER the girls became iconic. Now the trend for girl groups is to have more “badass” choreography, because it caters to new audiences. They’re not trying to make choreo that the general public can follow easily because that’s not what sells nowadays.

And even in comparison, “Next Level” and “ASAP” are more complicated compared to dances in the late 2000’s such as Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” and SNSD’s “Gee”.

BoA's voice is very very special, it has always had that trademark "huskiness" to it that helps people instantly recognize her singing. It has nothing to do with age, you can hear some of her very famous songs like "Every Heart", "Key of Heart", "Only One" and that voice puts such a lovely flavor to them. The way she plays with the melody is special too, you'd think this type of voice suits for girl crush, cool songs but even in power ballads or more sentimental songs, she sounds super sweet. She's a real legend, and you should also check out her performance of "Only One", her dancing skills is still amazing at this age, what a goddess.

She opens up her throat a lot, whereas most vocalist usually keeps theirs just wide enough (or gradually expand it) for more control and to push air better. But the way she opens it up almost instantly when she hits the notes creates a pretty unique sound, you can always tell it's her.

It kind of makes the song more about men, e.g. who has the better man is better, even though it's suppose to be women empowering. I don't mind it that much but I can see why it's an issue, also considering the group's name.

It’s true that SNSD was very diverse when it comes to their music and video concepts but they are popularly known for their cutesy and girly songs and choreographies. SNSD’s popularity spiked up during Gee, Genie, Oh. They are really know for their easy, cutesy and girly choreographies. I think that’s what he meant by that statement.

I know what you mean about Taeyeon. She is a CHAMELEON. She can amp up the attitude SO easily for being mostly a balladeer. This group has the CREAM of the crop, TOP talent of the industry. They all have a immense potential, whether in singing, dancing and rapping. I was quite shocked to see which member was going to be part of this group, knowing that I stan almost all the groups to which they belong to. Can't wait to listen to their debut album. After all, It's a SuperGirls group. This song ... I'm not really sure. It's quite strange. I wonder if they're going to go more into that kind of music or do something completely different. Hey Aaron, Happy New Year and thanks for the react! I just wanted to punctuate what you said about Taeyeon's choreographies being considered ''easy''. I can even agree with you on her solo career, as Taeyeon never really focused her career on dance, but I guarantee you that she still delivered amazing performances! But you couldn't be more wrong when you consider Girls Generation's choreographies. The choreography of ''I Got a Boy'' and ''Into the New World'' are extremely tiresome because they are high energy all the time. On the other hand, choreographies like ''Genie'' in which they make the main point of the choreography, being the chorus with the movement of the legs, all this in high heels and keeping the formation that is extremely on point all the time. Plus the choreography of ''The Boys'' which also has formation as the main point, with them opening half a split on the floor also in high heels.. And I can't help commenting on ''Catch me if you can'' which is... well, you know. Of course there are easier choreographies like ''Gee'' and ''Party'', but I think I've already made my point clear by saying no, Girls Generation isn't just about easy choreography. And I guarantee that the more into them you are, you'll discover even more difficult choreographies. Luv
