I enjoyed your honest reaction. I want to give you some information. This song is a kind of series. You have to listen to this song first because there is a story that continues from the previous album 'Save Our Lives'. And this song is an original song made by Forestella to commission Valensia Clarkson, a Spanish-born Dutch composer. He is a songwriter influenced heavily by Queen to the extent of creating a tribute album for her. This song is a utopia for humans who have developed civilization, but it may be a dystopia for nature, and contains a philosophical message that makes us think about how humans and nature coexist. For this song called Forestel, 400 tracks were completed through 17,000 recordings over 8 months. Their latest song was a new attempt and challenge in the rock opera genre. They say they were taken aback when they first heard this song. This is because of the unique melody and numerous variations. But they did their best to make this song their own style. Even though it wasn't your taste in music, I love and cherish their music. I can't wait to see what new genres and creative musical endeavors they will surprise me with.

I think that being different from all kpop songs/groups is what caught my attention in them, I had never seen a crossover quartet until now in this environment, and I only found out when they covered shape of you on these end of the year shows, it was something new and then I went to look for more about and listen to the songs ☺️

I appreciate your reaction. They did say that people will either love it or hate it. It turned out how they wanted it too. They wanted a big complex rock piece that is similar to queen's bohemian rhapsody. It's very different to kpop so for some people it takes a few listens to appreciate the song. Hyungho said you have to listen to it at least 3 times to understand what's happening. I love the song but I also love queen.

Thank you for your honest reaction to Forestella. I was like you when my first watching. It was something unfamiliar and unexpected even I've been following them for years. But after replaying 3~4 times I suddenly came to love this song deadly badly. It was really indescribable experience I never had before. Still I don't understand what happened to me, just thinking this song is so magical. I think you can enjoy the MAMA cover by Forestella better, the great debut song of EXO. (Maybe you'll like their Smooth Criminal, Thriller and Shape of you, too). Forestella has an enormous playlist in versatile genres so you will be able to find out something for you from Forestella for sure ;)

Thanks for this reaction! Forestella challenged themselves and they made no mistake. If you can say that the artist is very good, even if you didn't like the song, then it was still worth it. So thanks. When I was in K-Pop, I always gravitated towards bands that sing really well (btob, shinee etc.) When I found Fore, it was as if I had an epiphany. O! This is what I was looking for! In just a week, I found out everything I could find about them. Perhaps, like me, more people will be able to find their style in Fore.

Oh... Thank you for your sincere response to 'UTOPIA'. I was very confused when I first heard it when it was released. The ever-changing pitch and atmosphere... I was wondering what genre I was listening to. Before the release, one of the members said that likes and dislikes would definitely split. And when they first received the song, they said they were embarrassed because the difficulty level was so high. After many modifications, he said that this was the extent to which the contact was made in consideration of the public's preference. Therefore, I respect your opinion that it is not a preference. You listened very seriously from start to finish, so as a fan of Forestella, I'm very satisfied.

Thank you Aaron for your time for reviewing this newest album Utopia. This seems at first it is not quite usual their taste of song. You must listen to it repetitive a few times. I guarantee you that you will actually define all those 4 different voices individually. Then you are all set from that time to understand this song. Any song they sing, they first edited to their own perspective point of view of rhythm changes and their ability of analysis of lyrics is really proving their wide range of potential talents that can world wide spreadable. Love them especially Hyung ho's 4 octaves roller coaster singing ability even though that he was not a professional singer until he was 30 yrs old. . Love love love!😍😍🥰

Thank you for your honest reaction to this phenomenal song. It's a pity it's not to your liking, but of course that's to be respected. However, you should keep in mind that this is not K- "P O P" as it is commonly expected. Forestella was, is and remains a classic crossover vocal group and an "exotic" in any music genre (they can't really be classified) and perhaps pioneers for new sound experiences. With focus on blending genres and styles, their trademarks are their unsurpassable vocal skills and harmonies (which often create that "harmonious" Disney feel). I can accept that this isn't for everyone and fortunately tastes are vary greatly. So thank you very much for recognizing Forestella's performance.

Thank you for reacting 🥰 actually forestella covers any genre of music if you could browse you may find to your liking 🥰 for pop they are bad romance and shape of you, they cover Michael Jackson's songs and Queen, for balad mostly classical songs because they are opera singers, but Hijo de la Luna and Scarborough fair are mostly viewed, je sui Malad is the saddest one, for up beat they cover an anime song, Inner Universe in Russian, each member has their own phenomenal song, try watching phantom of the opera by kang Hyung ho, you'll be surprised because he sings alone which means he sings the male and female parts 🥰 thank you again for reacting forestella 🥰

Forestella no es un grupo Kpop, es un grupo crossover. El bajo y el tenor ligero tienen formación clásica. El barítono es un cantante muy experimentado en el teatro musical. Y el contratenor no tenía formación musical, aunque tiene talento para dar y regalar y una vena roquera genial.

Thank you for your reaction! I do feel you in a sense that this song might be difficult to grasp in the first encounter - the melodies are not simplified for sure - abstract and complex transitions. But the more you listen to it, you will find yourself slowly getting into the song :) Of course, I completely respect your preferences but if you ever decide to give this song another chance, you won’t regret it :) You can also check out their cover of Shape of You, Bad Romance, EXO’s MAMA etc. - Hope to see more of your reaction videos of Forestella’s performances :)

Try FORESTELLA's newest cover "MAMA (Original EXO) which was released at the same time as "Utopia" at turn of the year 22/23. FORESTELLA is very versatile and perhaps, you will still find access to the "Forestella style", with the excellent rendition of this legendary song.

This is not your typical track from this wonderful group but it doesn't need to be. It IS epic! A masterpiece in the vein of Dimash's "The Story Of One Sky". Great harmonies. Lyrics move us to exploration of our thoughts and abilities. I hope we get more of this. I understand the comparison to Queen and Muse but in reality, it is deeper than that! It is an art form! An expression of a thought or idea that most of us are too eager to dismiss as confusing. The truth is that this piece of art is an excellent example of creativity and expression pushing us to engage the wheels of our thoughts. Not a lot of music can accomplish this but this piece does. Not very many artists could have taken this song on in the first place. But Forstella did and it deserves at least our respect for the effort. Not for you? Understandable. But I frigging love it! All of their originals are first-class! Thank you for giving it a try! Hopefully, it will not be your last listen to this super vocal group.

For me it is also sort of difficult to listen to at first. Is it progressive rock ? I thought. However listen to it couple of times more, I am addicted to it. I believe this is kind of a rock opera which may not be your taste. But I think Forestella has various musicality which shows pop,rock,opera, kpop, musical and so on so they have performed so many events such as Mama award and other Korean tv shows. They have also covered many songs like fake love, shape of you, je suis malade etc . One of my favorites is their original song" For life " which is very comfortable and easy to listen to. Thanks for your honesty, that is what I want. Even if you don’t read this, I’m leaving this here for future fans who might find this helpful. I’m sorry that when this reaction was requested they didn’t tell you to react to the prequel first, which is SAVE OUR LIVES …this m/v contains the first 3 chapters. Utopia which is the 2nd part of the trilogy, starts with chapter 4 and requires at least 3 listens…that is the point they’re trying to convey. The 3rd part is not released yet. It is not a dance song, definitely not K-pop , but is conveying a particular message. They picked the composer precisely because of his influence by Queen. Please rewatch in order…I don’t care if you don’t react to it, but privately just for your own sake to understand the point they’re making. I think it would enrich you as a reactor. You’ve already unbeknownst, started to get the gist when you mentioned your dislike of the extravagance, etc…every bit of choice made here …whether it’s the music, lyrics, costumes, the imagery and language is meant to be there, ..even the old -sounding music as you put it..😊 …they didn’t want to feed us the understanding…they want us to come to the understanding ourselves …I’m thinking world view here.. so much is fed to us without people questioning, with distractions and redirections galore and short sharp bits of entertainment for instant gratification, etc … Forestella is just being Forestella …they are not your average group so their original work is going to organically reflect that…it is why they’ve produced what they have so far…they DARE to be different, to NOT do the expected or be labelled as others would have them be. This is why this little S. Korean group from a little company is making people sit up globally and take notice. They did not get here by being unadventurous and tepid. It is precisely why they can do the amazing covers they do and win over people who’ve always hated a particular song or genre for whatever reason, but who fall in love with the Forestella version of it. They thrive on the diversity in their music..it requires intense learning, researching, understanding, questioning, respecting the original intent of the song , the content, including cultural and language sensitivities in order to make it their own. Finally…. their stated mission, their intent ,their promise from their group’s infancy… was to create better music. I believe they are living up to that promise.
