Honest Review: FLAMMA FS05 MODULATION PEDAL (vs. MXR Stereo Chorus & Phase 95)

On paper the Flamma Modulation pedal is great: true stereo in- and outputs, 11 different modulation settings (covering everything from chorus to flanger, phaser, auto-wah, bitcrush, etc.). And so I bought it and today we will check it out and also compare it to two classics: the MXR Stereo Chorus and the MXR Phase 95!

I would suggest to press the button that is marked "save" to save your settings. But I guess you've already figured that out

I found that pedal pretty worthless too. I was impressed with the Flamma Analog Chorus mini pedal. That would save you a little space

It sounds pretty good but it's not much of step up from their smaller, less expensive version. It allows for saving presets, but you still have to push a button to retrieve them.

Nice honest review. I bought this pedal for the preset capability and got to remove 3 other pedals from my board.There is a substantial volume drop with my pedal too. Luckily I have a volume pedal on my board.

Thanks, Mike! Do you know if there are compatible switch controllers to pair up with Flamma Mod? That would make it easier to switch patches easier on live gigs.

I got a better chorus sound by using the mix on the vibrato setting. Less volume drop, better overall sound.

I had this pedal and found it quite good. In fact, I sold it because I din´t notice any change in sound in some modes, but I have seen in some forums that the secret is that CRTL 1 must be quite high to make real changes in sound. I ordered another one yesterday and will let you know. I have a very good Zoom ms50 and Nux Mod Core and have had many expensive modulation pedals, but I find it useful the presets in this Flamma for some songs in our set.

Hi, yes I already have on my board. I think the flanger, phaser and vibrato are specially good and It´s a plus the presets@@tanz5389

Man I wish I had seen your review a week ago before buying it and finding out that this is a useless pedal for a live setting. It may be usable for studio or home recording, but damn it loses volume whenever is turned on. I hope I can get a refund to get a better peace of gear instead...

I listened carefully the test of this pedal, made by Mike Hermans and Brett Kingman, and there was no audible loss of power ! Your pedal is obviously defective. It is strange that you were unable to admit it (for an honest reviewer...) 😉

As much as I love these two guys, they are salesmen. They get paid (or get free stuff) to review equipment and will do what it takes to make a pedal sound good. Apples and oranges.

It's a good pedal. You're just trying to justify these 2 mxr pedals. I don't see why I should pay more than double the price only to get one chrous effekt 😂. To actually have 11 effects in one pedal for this price is a steal

I have 3 of their pedals including this one and enjoy them all. Seems he purposely did a bad or uneducated demo. Everyone hearing them so far has really liked them. Helps to know what you are doing. The majority of pedals out there have good and crap settings. This one is no different. Buy only the ones YOU really like. This pedal is NOT for this guy. But it may be for you. Really I could barely stomach this demo, but none of my settings sound this bad.

This pedal is a signal sucker the effects are nice though what a shame totally unuseable unless makes a volume pedal to raise the volume when the pedal is engaged
