Did I hear right, its just a single shot? I guess more variety is always good, but it would be nice to have a higher capacity two-shot shotgun. I'd like to see a double barrel that loads from two twelve shot magazines, with each barrel having it's own spring, but I think they'd go for an internal magazine for ease of use.

Sounds like something the Artemis/Hades would be a good base for, if the rotating mech in the front was extended to accept two rounds instead of just one

Yeah I was disappointed that it wasn't a proper nerf shotgun same with the reaper blaster. Honesty if Rival gets a GOOD shotgun it should be the equivalent of two kronos blasters glued together and be pump action and slamfire if they can pull it off.

@@SuperStitch54321 We can hope, but I think the complaints the Atlas only had 6 shots is what hurt us in this regard. To be fair though, they said the Atlas was going to have TWO rival magazines in the box, and they opted NOT to do that (which I didn't know until after I bought mine), so I feel Nerf is somewhat to blame for that. What really bugs me about the whole thing though is how shotguns have been more for play value in the past, and never really focused on ammo capacity as a result. Here comes the Atlas, designed for competitive play and it has 6 shots. Compare that to the Doomlands Judge designed for play value and it has 12 shots out of the box. It makes you wonder what kind of logic is going on over there.

Because the point would be to make one that wasn't crappy, not intentionally make a gun with the same shortcomings as the first. Unless you define it as being bad strictly for shooting 2-balls at once no matter the improvements, in which case you can just not buy the gun if they ever make it.

It's not a shotgun since it doesn't fire multiple balls. More like a tactical rifle. Slam-fire would be nice and an option to fire one or two rounds at a time would tilt the Hypnos up there.

I'm honestly disappointed he didn't compare this to an EAT😅, that's why I'm excited about this it's basically the Rival equivalent. Also I would hope like the Hades this can take a 15kg spring.

@@domjones8653 Yes, each shell has many little pellets which give a shotgun it's spread, I'm aware. I'm just saying the Hypnos only fires one round at a time, so no spread, so no shotgun effect.

it actually works fine for me as a lefty, my right hand pops over to press the mag release and can then immediately remove the popped out mag comfortably as my right hand is already in the correct position

The Atlas was ment to be a shotgun class gun to be in close quarter combat. It does only shoot six time and weaker, but when it comes to that close encounter, the Atlas well tag effectively. I still love mt Atlas.

Looks great. Rival needs more full-length blasters, since everything to this point has either been stockless or bullpup style. (I realize the Khaos and Nemesis are full length but they lack the proportionality or ergonomics that the Hypnos appears to provide.) it's almost shaped like a Rapidstrike ergonomically

I personally don't mind the lack of slam-fire, since rival rounds tend to a lot more accurate than run-of-the-mill nerf darts, you don't need to spam everywhere. The priming sounds pretty loud, which I bet could get annoying over time and could give away your position in an hvz game, and i'm shocked that the stock isnt adjustable. Would've been a simple, yet welcome addition, since I hate how short and awkward they can be, and rival is supposed to be for the teenage demographic. However, it looks good, has some good power, and unlike the titanium, doesn't double-feed accidentally. May get one depending on the price

I'm ready for this to drop. Love the look and that it is a Springer is awesome for me. Had a nerf war with the whole family yesterday for Yule/Christmas, we had an arsenal and everybody of all ages had an absolute blast! Personal favorite has been the kronos and the zeus coming in second. Even though the Hera has such a better trigger response than the zeus. I will be making it Lipo and will be tinkering with it to make it have a better snap. Absolute blast, can't wait for the hypnos

Single shot only? I stick with my Atlas. It's got a hopper so ammo isn't an issue. in fact, it's a straight upgrade cuz it's got a speed loader and i carry 2 pods. I'm thinking of increasing a spring, but im not sure if the gears are strong enough. Might look into HPA/LPA build with my paintball tank or a small portable air pump powered by a lipo. Just gotta find me an XBZ or figure out a way to build one myself lol

Thanks Drac, great job! Hasbro tho, what are you thinking?! I am a dedicated nerf rival LEFTIE, make those guns ambi for the love of leftie god. And take some of these other suggestions too, adding a mechanism to feed one or two extra balls per shot would be incredible. Might also be worth taking a look at the Artemis and find a way to throw both slam fire and an internal mag, maybe even better a triad, or set of stacked electable mags. The mag eject needs to be ambi though, or you are saying to many fans "this blaster is not for you."
