These are great cars, I’ve owned about 10 of them and love them. Id definitely recommend upgrading the brakes. Powerstop makes fantastic brakes for these cars. I’ve got the heavy duty powerstop top cop pads and rotors and this car stops just as fast and hard as my Charger did with the massive 15 inch rotors. New brakes and a fluid flush/bleed it’ll feel great.
@MintyFreshTurds2 жыл бұрын
I second Powerstop brakes, so far rotors still stop smooth. 30k on Toyota Yaris front brakes, and 15k on Town Car Signature L brakes.

You definitely purchased the best one to collect: its a genuine NYC Taxi long wheelbase model, and its a 2011 last year of production. I daily drive a 2006 Lincoln Town Car Presidential Edition with the gigantic factory sunroof and a carriage top. I'm now at 130,000 miles and very little has ever needed attention. I do oil changes every 2,500 miles. I service the transmission every 20,000 miles, and differential service every 75,000 miles. It will serenely cruise West Texas highways at 90 mph all day long with a comfortable quiet ride and decent stereo. I bought it primarily based on all the reports of the panther platform being very long lived easy and cheap to service. I had a nephew in the black car business (24 hour executive limo service in the east coast). He said they changed the oil every week as they racked up massive miles - he said that several had been in use with more than 800k miles. He said they were retired not because they were broken, but that they needed to have more modern style to meet customer expectations.

Check the accumulator for the air conditioning. These were a known problem to rot out. I have a 2010 P7B myself and absolutely love the car. It and my Mercedes-AMG are my best 2 cars to drive.

I got to admit I got a lot of weird looks like when I got a crown Victoria police interceptor. After several vehicles the crown Vic was the last one standing and operating. I got a 2010 for 2100. Swap the alternator in lest than 40 mins or less as well as the tire rods. If you like big body vehicles this one is one for the books. Why have a mustang when you can have the same 4.6 v8 with a 4 doors.

Great video!! Growing up in the New York City metropolitan area, I rode in the back in many of these great cars. And in the back of the black livery cars which were Lincoln Town Cars. I own a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Premium with 126,000 miles on it and I love my Panther. I wonder are there other Ford Panther cars registered in the UK.

Thank You for a magnificent presentation and interesting narration. A happy ending for this taxi that it has come into your collection. Please stay safe and tend to that rack 'n pinion issue. I've had an '04 CVPI for 14 years and in 2019 at 228k miles got a TSB to correct corrosion on the steering shaft linkage. At the time, there was binding when turning the steering wheel in traffic. The service writer at the dealer informed me of a recall for 2005 and up, I had just missed it because the law enforcement and livery fleets were cut off at that model year. Had to pay out of pocket. In a high speed chase a Deputy in Broward County Florida had lost control and crashed with a bad outcome attributed to that condition. Of course we stick to the speed limit. Looking forward to your follow up videos.

I dont understand why Ford stopped making this car ...because they were iconic for Nyc ..why did they not developed new vics with energy / clean standards or electric vics ... The outside of the car/ the design is the most iconic which is a part of Nyc i think .

@@KS-xo3oh Hopefully they bring it back to the streets of Nyc ....and fully back with nowadays standards... Nyc needs it ....just like London do with their Cabs ...London sticks to their outside design of their Cabs ..
