First, as the majority already knows, Olight is a Chinese Company with a U.S. Dealer but you get charged by your bank with an international fee when you make purchases. However, Olight has been very cooperative in refunding those international fees after you contact their customer service. Now with the Olight Seeker 2 Pro and as this video review has pointed out the magnet isn't strong at all and it has been my only gripe. The flashlight itself is great and the 3200 lumens comes in really handy when I'm searching for somebody/thing in the dark during work. Before the Olight Seeker 2 Pro, I used another flashlight with a very strong magnetic base (Slyde +) and have used it to stick to metal surfaces horizontally with out any worries to go hands free. I use it as a back up flashlight a lot. I've also noticed that other Olight flashlights magnetic base vary in strength. The Olight Seeker 2 I have the magnetic base is just a little bit stronger then the Olight Seeker 2 Pro so it will hold up horizontally but just slightly. The Olight Perun 2 I have has a very strong magnetic base. I have others. Granted, Olight is not advertising their lights to have a strong magnetic base but it will go a long way if they did have and consistently have a strong magnetic base.

Nice review. I have two black, and one orange Seeker2 Pro lights. But I kind of disagree with you on the wall mount. If it were to have a holder designed specifically for the the Seeker2 Pro, then it would not be compatible with the other Olights. And you lose the convenience of not needing different charger/holders for each light. Less clutter if they all can use the same charger. And after buying a few Olights, those proprietary magnetic cables are no longer that scarce.

While it is true the olight seeker 2 has a negative post on the same side of the battery for charging, That is only for the charging. It still uses the much stronger negative connection near the head of the light for the negative post during use. Those little negative contacts on the cap side are not good enough to carry the amps used during light operation. This is important due to this one fact. I can verify that the 21700 protected 5000mah button top battery from orbtronics will run this flashlight just fine. As long as the length of the battery is the same, and the button top is pronounced enough, a protected, button top 21700 battery will work with the button top pointing toward the cap. A lot of chargers are not capable of charging these batteries due to the 75mm length but some will. A Hometech Homeschool 4 bay usb charger will, and it is 18 bucks at 18650BatteryStore. The 21700 orbtronic protected 5000 mah battery are 11.99 each at the orbtronic website. You can not charge those batteries in the flashlight as there is an insulator where the negative is on the modified 21700 batteries. This is not unsafe, but the battery must be the same length, and most protected buttontop batteries will be. So in spite of what some believe, you are not forced to buy the 26 dollar olight modified battery. Underneath the cover the battery used by orbtronic is probably the same battery. Orbtronic likely soldered a thin washer on top of an insulator to the side of the battery to get the negative there for their fancy magnet charger. One more advantage is the hometech charger will be at 2 amps on the outside bays if that is the only battery being charged.

I love the look and quality of Olights but that’s not the main reason to buy a flashlight. The Nitecore E4K makes this totally obsolete with it’s 30 mins runtime @ 4400 lumens. To me the performance of Olights don’t even come close to matching their premium build quality and price. The runtimes on Olights are a joke compared to many Nitecore models. But each to their own...I’ve just ordered a Nitecore MH12 V2, 3hrs 45mins @ 1200 to me that’s a good balance between brightness and runtime it’s also USB rechargeable. Honestly Olight needs to raise their standards when it comes to performance and runtimes in comparison to others brands and models. But as always thanks for the review, it helps the rest of us compare and choose..

TCPUDPATM PORTS a car sitting in a deiveway or parking lot in the middle of arizona or nevada is not doing any “active cooling” and if you think those batteries still dont get well over 100 degress you’re a moron. Military also uses 18650 batteries in every desert conflict with no issues you bafoon

Great review! I have a lot of O-light but really wish they'd start using tail cap switches as they're easier to use as soon as you grab one rather than rotating it until you find the side switch. Releasing something that takes a 21700 is worrisome. I already have lights that require AAA, AA, CR123, 18650 and 26650. To add another type just seems like a hassle. However, I must say - I do like the rubber coating and O-Light makes some great stuff.

Oh am I glad I picked up the regular R50pro 50 when I saw this one at the shot show. I Don't need lights to tell me how much battery is left I carry spares or what power level I'm at, or a timer .I prefer 26650 batteries. I'm willing to bet because it's smaller than the R50pro it's going to get much hotter.
@cayero4 жыл бұрын
Waste of money. For $140 you get 3200 lumens for 2 minutes and it can't even reach 20,000 candela. You can get a lot more for less money. If you're new to flashlights please understand lumens is not the end all be all of a flashlight. A good reflector is more important. Candela (how far your light can reach) matters more. The reflector in this light is way too shallow. That's a waste of lumens. I've seen 800 lumen lights that look twice as bright as this light.

Since I have 3 other olight light chargers. Can I use those chargers to charge the seeker pro 2?
@Timelessplays5 жыл бұрын
No
@MrHomolka5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can. They demonstrated this on the Olight KZbin page. The original Pro Seeker used it's own cable but the Pro Seeker 2 is compatible with the standard magnetic cords

Does anyone NOT running affiliate links to Olight own this light? Is it really worth the money? That’s a lot to pay for a flashlight and I don’t have large excess cash so I’d really like to know if it’s actually worth it before spending the money. Thanks to anyone who cares to share their opinions.

Referring to the magnetic bracket - I can look at it and "know that it wouldn't hold up to movement w/o falling", plus which a pocket clip wasn't in the description of what comes with the light - there are many other Olight models that do have pocket clips - and obviously the magnetic charging isn't a micro USB, wasn't designed that way for an obvious reasons, btw anyone that has USB plugs will have an ability to CNN plug it into the wall. Instead of over focusing on your lack of observation and criticizing any company for not making it specifically for your likes - who's more likely incorrect, you can always return it!?! Tactical lights will have both of your gripes, this ISN'T and WASN'T designed as a tactical light because of those hundreds out there! Just sayin'! Take care, "God Bless", sincerely -

nitpicking about it having a priority charger is naive. Apple and android are different also if you use camera's or drones daily as many KZbinrs and others do its not really an issue. and they offer a better mount if your placing it in a car. And I agree with Jim Y, who doesn't have spare wall bricks. I appreciate them not adding to my drawer of them.

I have this light, doesn't have the battery level and brightness levels where yours does. Just a little tiny led in the middle of the power switch that lights up when it is turned on in any mode. Ah, edit because I think the difference is that mine isn't the Pro. So no rubberized sides or the other bells and whistles I don't miss at all. Also didn't come with the charger you didn't like, just the PL Mini charger which is nice and simple and just works. Thanks for the video
