A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his KZbin channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

Love the sound that you're getting ! What's the signal chain on your vocals ? - Mic, preamp, effects etc.. .. Also does the guitar really record well or do you have to doctor it up quite a bit ? Thanks Sean

I just got one off of reverb and I wasn't expecting it to feel so premium. It feels amazing in the hand and unplugged it's not a bad acoustic guitar at all. Especially if you are in a dorm room or have roommates. I've heard it compared to a Thinline which is absurd. I have a ja-90 Thinline and this is way louder. It is kind of amazing and not just a gimick.

As a gigging and studio rig, nothing checks all the boxes. But these Fenders get very close and being eclectic with one or two rigs is important. Having such versatile sound in one lite guitar to use in a variety of venues, all with different sound reinforcement set ups, is wonderful. This enables you to focus on the music without the back and joint pain of lugging tons of gear.... I'm a fan of these instruments.

Factoring in all the sounds it creates, it’s the Swiss Army knife of guitars and worth it. Save up for it.... you’ll have the money before you know it. Delayed gratification can be a powerful feeling. “I worked extra and now it’s mine!”

@@chestyvulva i bought mine in 2019 when the telecaster was released and its still p good. its the guitar i practice with when im just chillin at home. its built really well and does exactly what i need it to. the price still isnt great. i only play it electric when im showing friends the guitar. i dont regret it, but if you have to think twice about spending that kind of money, its honestly a better idea to buy a solid full body acoustic and an american strat or something and still save $500

I was thinking about buying one through a website that lets one make payments from my brother’s work. Gonna have to study them. The one I listened to was 2.5k (you pay extra on these websites cause you get to make payments) and that particular one didn’t seem worth it. I’ll check out the others later. Edited: I noticed the website was trying to charge me a good grand more than what the guitar is worth straight up. Also, Daniel is wrong, IMO, this is the prettiest one!

Great review .. it’s definitely one of those items that you really have to use in order to understand it. Yes you can buy a nice acoustic and a nice electric for the price of this thing, but the versatility of this is just amazing. I find myself grabbing this for all manner of practice these days. It is well built and lightweight. Also that 3rd position is awesome. Find myself using that one and the electric clean mostly.

If I might take the liberty of reviewing the reviewer, I like the way that you have thoughtfully taken time to bring out the less obvious strengths and weaknesses of this instrument, (which I also like). Not sure why you have double-tracked the song at the end which is a brilliant way to show off the guitar. And... most of all, thank you for not hiding the real guitar behind a load of distortion. A beautiful review - thank you.

Pretty comprehensive practical review so now that you have the Acousticsonic Tel maybe you can compare and contrast them. That would be an interesting and worthwhile. The musical interlude just hits the spot you have some of the best upcoming female vocalists with Katie and Andrea around, along with you very super guitar accompaniment. Sean thanks for the quality review.

I have had the Acoustasonic Telecaster for a little over a month, and agree with everything you said, from the versatility to the price/value to the gig bag. I put 10-50 phosphor bronze Stringjoy (jury still out…they seem a little too dead for the short time they’ve been on) so it still gets great acoustic tones but plays and bends the high E and B strings like an electric. I’m playing Americana, and it’s really nice to be able to play acoustic rhythm parts and switch to a Telecaster bridge pickup for a lead. I’m playing it through a Dr Z Jetta which I’ve dialed in pretty clean…not the best electric tone,, but a decent trade off.

Posting this comment before I’ve watched the video. But I have loved this guitar since I first saw it demoed by Anderton’s. I’m sure Pete’s amazing playing didn’t hurt my impression. And then I got to play one in a store once, and thought it felt and sounded great. The only reason I don’t have one today is because they’re pretty pricey. Even on the used market they tend to hold their value pretty well. But maybe one day.

Very nice Andrea!! I haven't got to play an Acoustasonic yet, but from demos, I thought I liked the sounds the Tele version makes better than the Strat version. At that $2k price point, and given that its electronics doing it, I think 1 version should be capable of getting all the tones from both!! Right now, I'm thinking the Taylor T5z is a better value, and I like the 24.5 scale also. Even in the used market, the Fender is not versatile enough to warrant the $$$$. JMHO 8) --gary

Love your channel Sean and different strokes for different folks, but that sounds no better to me than your average low end Takamine (and I gigged with one of those for ages). It would certainly be nice to hear someone compare these to the Godin line that has been around for I don't know how long. My dude back home in East TN Tall Paul has played one of those for decades and it sounds much better than what I'm hearing on this vid.

I'd be curious what you'd think after a month of electric 10's on there. See if it messes with a good acoustic sound. Or if it draws you to play it more like an electric.

You can try a set of D'addario EJ20's which are basically Nickel Wound Jazz Extra Light Electric Strings w/ a Wound 3rd (They're essentially Electric Guitar Nickel Wound versions of Acoustic Extra Light Strings) so that it's easy to play. Extra Light Strings make your Acoustic feel more like an Electric which will ease up the fretting hand, and reduce the string breakage.

@@seandaniel23 They have Color Coded ball ends which makes it easier to identify which string is which. Here's something new:acousticguitar.com/bigrock-power-pins/ Power Pins which will make re-stringing it easier plus they enhance the tone of the Guitar. Guitar companies have mentioned this many times that you can make your Acoustic Guitar feel like an Electric by using Extra Light Strings.

@@seandaniel23 That Acoustasonic Strat (basically an updated version of the Stratocoustic) is super cute. Being easier to hold than a Standard Acoustic Guitar (in fact just as easy as an Electric) is a big plus, cause Electric Guitars are the easiest for beginners to learn. It has a big Plethora of sounds that sound great for every genre of music (they should have extended range versions of someday).

I own a T5 custom I can say- treb/bass knobs are the difference/ as Fender has “mod” knobs. Fender models sonic values up to 10 modeling sounds

Sean Daniel You could've used the Acoustasonic Strat at the New Year's Eve gig if you had your Taylor converted into a Cello.

Wonderful Performance. Is it easier on the hands than a jumbo acoustic with .12 gauge strings? I'm learning now as I get older I cannot play my current acoustic without pain, and this acoustasonic popped in my head first as an alternative option. Thanks.

I have the American Acoustasonic Tele, and it's the easiest playing acoustic I have, and I deal with hand/wrist issues as well. I want to try the Acoustasonic Jazzmaster, as I hear it has a thicker neck, which my hand prefers. Curious to see if I can tell the difference from the Tele.

@TomBaddley I'm a full time gigging musician playing a taylor with .12s It's tearing the ever living shit out of my hands (I'm only 27) Really considering getting one of these. One concern I have is low end. I play in an acoustic duo and my guitar is the only low end driving force. The taylor does a really good job at filling in that space. Do they have a good acoustic low end?
