Myles Turner No, she wasn't. She hasn't evolved as an actress at all-saw her in Hope and Faith, many years ago (they dumped the original actress playing her character, then she was the replacement) and it was the same bad acting. She was 18 then, we thought she'd get better. She didn't. Transformers- same issue. The second one was a rushed script, no doubt about that, but like, she didn't get better as an actress. Couple that with her attitude towards fans, and it did not help her career. Like, when she made Jonah Hex, and went to the comic cons (claiming to be a Comic fan) she didn't promote the movie, just seemed uninterested. Josh Brolin had a ball, despite the film being awful, he was still cool towards the fans. Answered questions and stuff. Same deal with Jennifer's Body too-and that was meant to be her big gig. So no, there is no chance of her getting better. She just does it for a paycheck, and moves on.

I think it really depends on how you do cgi. If you just use costumes for the actors that then really have to play and add some features with cgi, like gollum in LOTR or Cesar in Planet of the Apes it looks better if they use costumes. The problem with good cgi is that it normally looks more polished then the reallity and so the reallity becomes a bit unbelievable or unreal. Just like in the Warcraft Movie. But costumes can be nasty for the actors because of sweet and bad movement...

How about the effective if demanding process of combining Practical effects enhanced by CGI? Using nothing but practical effects no longer seems to work, but the pure CGI effects are no better at this point.

"Arrow" has failed the character since Season 2 ended too though lol. Poor Stephen Amell, he was enjoyable in TMNT2 but he wasn't allowed to rough around the edges enough, he seemed watered down. I think that's what's really wrong with the new TMNT film franchise, there has been way, way more brutality in the CGI Cartoon series or in 2007's TMNT then in these films, aside from when they were draining their blood in TMNT1.

Honestly this movie was fine, sure it isn't a masterpiece of any sorts but it's better than the original (its prequel) if not just as good, and the original was...well pretty ok , not winning any awards in any future or alternate dimension, but I don't get the hard criticism these movies get...what are people comparing them to ? the multiple horrible rubber suits ? and the one classic very entertaining but extremely cheesy, stilted and dated-by today's standards-rubber suit movie ? I think people have overblown their nostalgia out of proportion for what was in actuality a toy commercial (yes characters' story-lines were built around the toys)

The original TNMT were comics and the 1st live action movie was closer in tone to them. It was the original cartoons that helped sell the toys, but who cares, lots of cartoons have been made for that reason. I agree with ATL Steelo, I hated the way Casey Jones was handled in this, the only thing that even remotely resembled him was the mask he wore for all of 30 seconds.

"what are people comparing them to ?" I agree that nostalgia should not be so important most of times, but here, people would not compare so much if this was original material. Bay and the studio deserve all the bad rap based on those comparisons. This is what you get when you're a lazy ass only wanting to cash in a famous franchise, all that while shitting on it and giving the old-school fans the middle finger. You could argue that because of the nostalgia, it could be impossible to remake TMNT properly these days, because whatever you do, it will always be too different. And I could agree with that. But lucky for us, IDW comics prove that it was possible. Personally, IDW TMNT comics are my comparison to the Bay movies, and they really make those movies miserable.

well I kinda get what you mean, but a niche high quality comic series, does not necessarily mean that it would work as a good movie for a mainstream audience, I personally love Dark Horse Comics and have read multiple Star Wars and Alien comics, but that isn't a very fair comparison, considering that in some fo the comicbooks the setpieces and creatures/areas would be too big of an undertaking when trying to present them in a live action movie. Like I said the New TMTNT movies are average on their best day, but the turltes are fun in those movies and the movies themselves are at the very least passable yu can watch them. It's not like TMNT was high brow and complex and then they made it into Fanboy and Chum-chum, and let's at least appreciate that they production is very receptive to feedback and try to respect the looks of the characters. at the end of the day. It ain't that bad folks

Having elements of a Bay film doesn't make it a Bay film. All it really has is the tone, the shots look very different (look at Every Frame a Painting's Bayhem video). You could say Insomnia looks like a Fincher film, not a Nolan film, because of the similar tone, but that doesn't make him a part of the production.

The raptors in Jurassic Park weren't people in suits and the alien wasn't seen clearly in like 90% of the movie, and didn't have to show emotion. The original TNMT movie was a low budget indie film. As time went on, the suits got shitty, but not in the 1st movie.

Bohemian Rhapsody Everything I said was true. If you're talking about the alien suit, it does look better, I never said it didn't, it was just hidden in shadows most of the time. The only time the raptors in JP had people in them were when they showed close ups of their legs, and in the kitchen. And TMNT was the highest grossing indie film for years until Blair Witch Project took that honor. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. How the fuck can you even compare effects from a mega budget movie like Jurassic Park to an indie film that was made on a shoestring budget?

kurvos Excuse me but an adolescent turtle is noticeably SMALLER than an adult turtle. comps.canstockphoto.com/can-stock-photo_csp19835163.jpg Every version (with some exception) were made to short and lean. April was about 5' 10" (bare foot) and the turtles barely came up to her shoulder. If you think of it... The only *teenaged* mutant ninja turtles we see in Bay's film is the 1st few minutes of their origin story.

I think turning Casey Jones into a cop adds nothing to his character at all, even his personality is too different. At least the cartoons and previous movies understood the core of his character. I think it would have been better if this version of Casey Jones was once a cop but then he got fired for doing questionable methods in the name of justice, and maybe thrown in a background about him being a major sports fan which explains his sports equipments that he uses for weapons and armor. As for the explanation about bebop and rocksteady, a better explanation would be that they transform into a specific animal based on their personalities.
