@@Taymoorismail I don't. I think he's at his best when he's focused on a story instead of whatever latest excuse he came up with to show a cool non linear movie. He's becoming so obsessed with all these time bending thingamajigs that he doesn't even have time for any characters, or even an engaging plot. Interstellar at its heart had a touching story. That’s the true scam of this, isn’t it? Convince people they “just didn’t catch” the important bits, despite having created a hackneyed excuse for a plot AND literal scenes where background noise makes it difficult to hear the only important information. You didn’t catch it because it’s not there. A movie that’s written smartly doesn’t need to obsess over how smart it looks. It just IS written well, with symbols that enrich the experience, but are okay not to see on the first pass. A good story rewards the viewer for figuring things out. People who are not used to figuring things out, are less surprised by the lack of reward on the first pass. But they wouldn’t come back for seconds unless they were expecting that reward SOMEWHERE. And it’s just... nowhere. There’s nothing waiting for them at the end/middle of this temporal clusterfuck.

@@emilysmith2965 lol you didn't understand the film? Watching it twice does help, and I've only watched it once, still I understood most of it, because I love any timetravel shenanigans and convolutions. I wonder if Christopher Nolan has ever seen the movie Frequency (from 2000 with Jim Cavieziel and Dennis Quaid). Because Frequency also uses time "travel" in an interesting way (a father and son can communicate via a radio exactly 30 years apart). Which also is used for some action scenes happening parallel to each other. It furthermore has (temorarily) first a dead father, then a dead mother.

4:53 The poop wouldn't materialize out of nothing, instead it would have already been there for many weeks, and you would have an instict to interact with it. The movie clearly establishes that (similar to the original Terminator) there is only 1 fixed timeline that is predestined and unchangeable, so all the inverted objects and persons have only predestined moments when someone interacts with them (the interactor feels an instict to interact with them in accordance with the predestined order of events), after which they will remain hidden for years or even centuries, until they gradually decompose due to entropy. You cannot create new objects through inversion. For example, that inverted man who gets stuck in the exploding building - that event was predestined, and it's also predestined that his carcass must continue going back through time while stuck and hidden inside that wall until it finally decomposes down to molecules; but in order to avoid time paradoxes, it is also predestined that nobody in the past has discovered his carcass during the period when it reverse-decomposed while going back through time. This also implies that in the regular order of invents, that building was built out of invisible organic molecules that slowly assembled a carcass over many decades, until one day that carcass became alive and popped out of the wall.
