I had a totally different experience with onyx storm!! I re-read fourth wing and iron flame before picking up onyx storm to refresh my memory and I really loved the experience ❤ I was never lost and I remembered every character, signet and dragon. I reated it 5 stars and I think it is my favorite in the series so far. Xaden on this book was perfection to me ❤‍🔥 LOVE the drama, the action, the romance and that ending!!!! I have so many thoeries I can't wait for knowing what hapens next

Huge agreement here! I think rereading the first two book would have elevated everyone’s experiences. Plus, because of the subtle clues, I started taking notes and it helped my experience tremendously, catching more details that I would’ve missed!

I'm so glad you said it about how kuch you loathe Memory Loss trope! That is the first thing I posted when I finished the book is that it ended on my least favorite trope. Love God of Malice Series ❤️❤️❤️ I still think about Gratify a year later. So so good!!!

I loved Onyx Storm! I’m still very invested, and I love a good quest. My overall best read in January was By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult. For Fanro, I loved Onyx Storm, Phantasma, and Bride.

I'm sorry about what happened at Target 🙊🙈 I've had moments like that too, so you're not alone. Wow!!! That was incredibly sweet of that person to gift it to you! Yeah, I tried getting the Target Edition too but they were really hard to get- they sold out so quickly!! I literally couldn't get a copy anywhere lol never had such a hard time getting a copy of a book in my life ever! I had to wait another week to get mine 😅 My reread of Onyx Storm was so much more fun. Btw. Question 🙋‍♀️ will you be posting a more spoiler in depth review about it?? I'm curious 🙊 I'm sorry it disappointed you. I think you may like the reread more and hope you'll enjoy it. But if not, I totally respect that. Thanks for posting. I always look forward to it 📚✨🤗

Wow. My Target had a line about 40 deep.But they brought the books to the front of the store and passes them out in order. There were a lot of books too. So most of us got them.

I completely agree about Onyx Storm. A lot of it was pretty confusing and I felt a lot of these characters we didn’t recognize were just thrown in as filler. Thankfully I loved the last probably 30% of the book once the pacing picked up which is why I still gave it 4 stars for now. That may change once I finish processing lol. I also agree about Imogen’s POV. I felt bad for her, but it really didn’t impact me otherwise. I thought for sure it was gonna be someone bigger. I’m definitely going to be doing a re-read at some point to see if things click more, but tbh I have no desire to pick it back up right now 😂

I loved The Crown of Oaths and Curses BECAUSE Soren & Rooke were REAL enemies! not kinda but truly enemies... & she is one of my fave FMCs of all time. the prequals really set up both of their perspectives really well.

I agree with what you said about Onyx Storm, the first 200 pages were a struggle to get through, but I gave it 4 stars, because I did enjoyed it after that, also for the dragons, I think thats why I will continue the series. I honestly don't get so many people talking about the romance or spice, cuz that for me was the weakest point of the book, there's so much going on, than Violet and Xaden barely had time together. And I totally think that the author is stretching the story and writing it differently as a way to fit it into the TV deal, its pretty obvious if you compare Fourth Wing to the newest release. I hope you enjoy the legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent, the first 5 books are amazing, I didn't like the last one, but the others are very good.

Omg! I finished OS in January and need the next one. I gave it a 6 star but I can understand why you and others would give it a 3 or 3.5. I will message you to talk spoilers! And my Top book of January was Becoming Ted by: Matt Cain. It just hit me hard in the feels and I feel somewhat seen in the character even though I’m like almost 10 years younger lmao 😂

I felt the exact same way about onyx storm. I was honestly super disappointed. I rated it 3.25 stars ONLY because of the last like 50ish% of the book.

Fourth Wing? Five stars. Iron Flame and Onyx Storm? 3 stars and I feel like I’m forcing myself to like it. There are so many books that are much better.

I agree with all the points on Onyx Storm. I gave it 3 stars. Definitely the weakest in the series. The whole ending was super confusing and that cliffhanger at the very end I felt didn’t make sense at all. I felt it was thrown in just for shock value not because it made any sense. I will continue to the next book and if things don’t get better I’ll probably end up DNFing the series.
