As an old player myself I say that this is accurate and when charged levels came into the game you can just grind and become even more overpowered. And when I fought the puppet master myself it didn't take me 14 hours and you know what level I was when I fought him. Around 70 or 80

For me the biggest issue were the unavoidable fights. You would not believe the amount of times I wanted to get to my objective and every monster in a 1000 mile radius had beef with me and rushed me. I was EXHAUSTED by the time I got to the actual thing I was supposed to find or fight, and I was sick of it. I even ignored the main story and became a bounty hunter instead of the "good guy hero" role they force you into

The Math part is a p2w bonanza, while the English part is ripoff Animal Crossing. The worst part is putting a good chunk of the game behind a paywall, including extra pets. The old game was MUCH better, with the items, classic look, and less microtransactions.

I just think the other ones just have a legacy to them. And because they look a lot cooler. I’d play the shadow Tower and I must say you must play it while you can, some of the Dragon bosses in there look epic. Especially when you fight that witch siren at the top at lv, 100 of the tower. I still have my legacy water starter back when I first played it in 2017.

I have a lot of personal lore with Prodigy, and when I returned to it recently out of curiosity and saw the style change. I instinctively went, "WHAT THE F- IS THIS!?" And now that I'm looking back at it, god the art style is so charming and the animators did some fantastic work.

I used to play this in elementary and middle school, my elementary account that I still have never completed the game, I did get all the gems in middle, but since all the pedestals were busted at the time I didn't really do much else, I was the other one stupid enough to buy a membership on one of them. When I was very young I used to play Prodigy. The entire thing was so different back then. Member ads didn't pop up often, you could capture tons of pets and evolve them quickly, and battles were much more interesting. The art style I played with was adorable, and I'm not talking about the one they phased out recently with the giant heads- I'm talking about the OG art style. I became very ahead in class due to the almost broken system of moving kids to harder math problems swiftly back then. Like, I was in 3rd grade back then and somehow ended up doing stuff classified as 6th grade math and even a few prealgebra problems. I feel like it actually prepared me for math in class. Now I see my brother playing it and everything's so different. I even sign on sometimes because I have so many cool items that no one else has (lots of evolved pets and starter pets and some buddies). I'm just glad they haven't gotten rid of Peeko yet, that thing was my starter and I never evolved it and it reached level 100 before me.

Ive had some... interesting thoughts about this game. Me and my sis would play all the time. I completed every gem, and was just waiting for them to update the game. The first hit for us was the character redesign. My sister stopped playing as soon as our characters changed to how they look now. I kept playing. Some of our favourite pets got redesigned, i stopped using them(ex. Frostfang). But i kept on. When i had it in a new class, i asked to use my og account instead of a new one since i HATED the new starters, plus they made evolution behind a paywall. One of my friends and i were the only ones who actually put a lot of time into the game. Becuase i had a developed account and he had premium. Bht eventually, i beat the grass crystal or whatever place. And no updates. I tried when the ice one released to do it, but i was too old then to care, plus prectically all my guys were redesigned besides for my starters from the beginning. This game just slowly went downhill and it sucks. I even cared so little, i hacked in premium to see if id enjoy myself more. Worked for two days Greed ruins a game TwT

This game... this was MY childhood. Look what they've done. Less cool graphics, battlepass, 2 types of memberships, it's all gone downhill. No more Zero, no more powerbeams or conjuring cubes on your enemies, No more challenging the wizards via Clankbot. No more screaming in excitement when you beat Mira Shade after 2 hours, no more feeling smug that you killed Crios first try. The only upside is that the combat was improved. But at what cost?

prodigy was such a nostalgic game for me, I loved the pixelated style and customization of players. it just started to suck when they added the memberships and fixed it to be more modernized :((

I was actually so surprised at the difficulty the puppet master had. I should’ve grinded since I was like only level 65 (his level is 100) but I was stubborn and it took me like two days (given it was more a couple hours since I’d only play when I was free to do so in school)

I'm so happy because of this video, instant sub. This game was my childhood. I've been playing since my math teacher intodruced it to me in third grade. And now I'm going to high school soon. The nostalgia in this video is incredible. And yes, I still play. I'm level one hundred. I remember spending hours hunting for rare pets and I do have some of the rarest ones. And it really did improve mg math skills.

guess what... i remember the first prodigy came out. prodigy, math game, where it stayed pixel forever. everyone had their own wizard and witch outfit, the islands where like super mario wii, very cool. except wii combined with super mario bros, anyways that game was SO OLD and different back then it is here, its inventory looked like the fortnite emotes, but fortnite og emotes. man, no one even talks about that anymore, i miss THAT first prodigy, it was amazing to learn on that platform as a child :)

I played prodigy at two points in my life. Once when I was in the target audience. It was all free, my guys could evolve, etc. then one of my math teachers out of the blue said ‘yeah you can play prodigy/[a different more boring math thing]’ do it kind of came back in style. Neither times did the game have an ending. (But there was a tower quest for grass i think?). Where prodigy succeeds is the cute designs and colorful world. Where it fails is the monotony (I can still fight enemies when doing a different type of quest!) Good video!

tbh, the most fun thing about this game for me was the open world exploration things. there was so much more than doing endless quests for me. i forgot most of it but that was really fun. And playing this game with friends made it top tier. i hated how pay2win it was tho like i couldn't even access some crucial things

I remember playing this game years ago when it had a more crude pixel-art aesthetic and spend hours upon hours save scumming the electric zone final boss because it was that hard. Even though the story wasn't fletched out at the time, it was still fun. Dueling other players was probably the only thing I did after getting busted attacks. The unavoidable enemy fights were so annoying. I believe I stopped playing once they started to change things (e.g. limiting how many attacks you and your pets can have at once; making boss battles and fights a pain).

Omg I used to be obsessed with this back in first grade. I remember I didn't understand the release pet option, so I accidentally removed my starter (those aren't obtainable anymore btw). The art used to be kinda fire. Like just google the old Vinequeen and omfg. I remember when there was like a little rainbow bridge to the academy that got broken in the beginning and I thought you had to use the angel's shroud (a member only item) to fly over lol. I didn't realize there was no ending. If ya'll wanna hire me I can fix your lore, bring back those fire old designs and make it look better and get rid of your haters lmfao
