My favorite Aunt Jenny worked for hotels for decades. She said she have seen it all - most people were okay and courteous but there were some - so nasty and unbelievably messy. Micheal, thanks for reminding me that my current troubles are blessings to have. It could be much worse.

@erinnkemp. Please get your facts right!!!!! I’m an RN and it’s HEP C. And only if contaminated by a person with it and if you have an open cut and are not vaccinated!!!! And even then you may not get it depending on your immunity!!!!! I’ve been an RN for 40+ years and Never gotten it!!!! (gloves and no gloves!!). There are plenty of other diseases you can get, just wash your hands, nothing replaces hand washing with warm water and lots of soap!!!

I worked in a hotel for 12 years & I would often help out in housekeeping. It is hard (& sometimes nasty) work. I agree about the towels. 😊 I liked seeing your work/ office space. Thanks for being real. Kudos to you both. 🎉

I worked at a Holiday Inn for about 12 too.. I started out at Front Desk, Management, Night Auditor, QA, but my best times were,,, as I could have access to the property... I love going to Laundry.. and help the ladies fold towels.. my family owned the hotel and as kids we could make money working at the hotel... It was a destination spot here in Florida back in the 70s and 80s

Last thing I want to find at an Inn, hotel, Air BnB,or even sleazy hourly rate MOTEL, is hair....anywhere.Second, and this is obviously my own lowly worth about two cents, is a surprise in the toilet.I agree with you big time Michael about your order of operations cleaning maneuvers,SAME. I can see the loveliness within the mess! I spent a lot of time in hotels because of company transfers and became friendly with the hotel staff. What surprised me was the number of men that would order room service and open the door totally nude. Witnessed it with the guy in the room across from mine and asked the staff member if that happened very often…all the time. I guess sometimes it could have been considered a perk, depending upon the appearance of the guy.😅

I used to work two jobs and my part-time one was a maid. People could be so gross. I remember one time the State Boys Basketball tournaments were going on. The boys that were in one of the rooms spit all over in the tub/shower. I have to guess the whole team must have contributed. I have never seen anything like it. It was disgusting and if they hadn't already checked out l would have found the coaches and showed them how utterly gross their boys were. I gagged the whole time. Yes I had gloves on.

If I may, suggest a hand held steamer for the bathrooms it so comes in handy for other things people may bring in with them. like 🪳and the other bugs hard to get rid of. lol
