Okay but if you’ve been struggling your whole life to lose weight then how can you have a successful weight lose surgery you need to lose weight before the surgery to prove you are going to keep losing weight after the surgery all that surgery does is cut your stomach in half and if you can’t tell lots of people who don’t have motivation gain the weight back so it’s not a smart decision

If you’re fat, love food, and you aren’t disciplined, it takes obsession to lose the weight. If you’re food obsessed, it’s a constant fight to turn your mind from eating all day. If she got surgery for it, that works too. Being fat totally sucks, everything about it sucks. Focusing on the downsides to losing weight doesn’t compare to the downsides of being fat. You go girl!

It's about the fame and money. There's no way they'd be able to live the way they do on their own without the show and the meet & greets, etc. I truly hope that Josh & Pumpkin are smart enough to have set something up for their future. If not, I am seriously concerned for their future. You cannot have 4 children and not work. That's just not how life works. Especially for a couple as young as they are. I pray it all works out for them in the end, but imagine their lives 10 years down the road when Alana is in her late 20s and they no longer have a TV show to pay the bills. Yes, she is 100% right to be pushing Alana with the college apps; but her and Josh need to be setting up their future as well. I mean damn, isn't she only 22 or 23 yrs old?! They're not going to be able to keep up this lifestyle, or even make ends meet with Josh's "freelance side jobs" he says he's doing.

@anaaguilar3304
@anaaguilar3304 Жыл бұрын
Didn't alter the metabolism, but it sure did a lot of damage as far as eating habits. A lot of the food we have access to has sugar and sugar can be extremely addictive, imagine your parent never giving you a chance to eat healthy. And losing weight when you've been overweight your entire life must be really hard because that means you never learned how to eat appropriately.

As someone who had surgery… it actually did fix my lack of motivation. Before surgery I thought that there was NO WAY I could lose weight and so it was pointless to try. And even though I did start gaining again about 6 years after.. I (for the first time in my life) felt like I had a measure of control and could actually work on myself. Once you’re very overweight… motivation is hard to come by because big changes are too hard to stick too and small changes take a long time to see results.
@WRLDofHRT
@WRLDofHRT 4 ай бұрын
I wish there wasn’t such a stigma around weight loss surgery for people who actually need it, especially when you can be sitting on a ticking time bomb of severe hormonal dysregulation that just doesn’t show up in most blood tests until you’re already quite ill (like hypothyroidism or PCOS for example.) You really can’t win, there’s this one size fits all mentality of move more and eat less, but by the time you’re actually obese it’s a lot more complicated than that, especially if the root cause of it hasn’t been identified. It’s as if people resent people for “having it easy” for being prone to throwing up if you have more than a couple of spoonfuls of food even when you’re faint and starving due to lack of calories. I’ve never had a gastric band or anything like that myself but I’ve always thought it sounds like it must be extremely hard to adapt to and very risky. It’s a massive commitment as well, financially and health wise. But then when people succeed and become thin, they’re labelled EDd and often actually resented by people who just don’t want anyone to succeed at anything! If people worked on themselves as much as they criticised other people, the world would be a better place! Well done for doing what was right for you 🙏🏼💕

Just because someone gets weight loss surgery doesn’t mean they have a lack of motivation. Nobody should get bashed for it either especially if it’s for self care and not just for looks and neigh standards. It’s her body her choice

Exactly! I'm thinking about getting it not for the appearance but for my own mental health. She may have some weight that's just not coming off no matter how hard she tries to get rid of it. We shouldn't ridicule people for trying to help themselves feel better

It’s sad, just because someone might go that route doesn’t make them lazy or unmotivated. My best friend struggled with her weight later found out she had pcos and wouldn’t have kids she had three beautiful children. No matter what she did it was hard to get the weight off and stay off because of her pcos. Years later she managed to find a way that worked for her to get a good bit of weight off and keep it off. She then had weight loss surgery and has never been healthier, she maintains her weight the healthy way and I couldn’t be prouder of her.

Right! If it makes her happy and feel good. What does it matter what route she took. Seems like the surgery was boost that helped her. She is still going to the gym and making healthier eating choices. The surgery probably helped get her started. If she happy then that’s all that matter. She probably feels healthier all together. It’s not always easy for everyone to just lose the weight specially if they have other medical issues that make it hard to lose the weight.
@jenelle11234
@jenelle11234 Жыл бұрын
And even if you do, you have a lack of motivation that’s what the surgery is for. It helps you gain your motivation back. I’ve had the surgery so I speak from experience and I was one of the most unmotivated people I know. And I’ve had the surgery six months ago and I’ve lost 100 pounds and I’ve done the bare minimum but I’ve still lost so much weight. Motivation is definitely a good thing but it’s not the biggest issue.😂

@@mango_the_poptart if you do you get the surgery. Just be prepared for the physical toll. It will take on your mental health. Because surgery is much more daunting than it seems. I have had two surgeries, one for weight loss, and one for a life-threatening thing, one after the other, and that was pretty traumatic for me, since I’ve never gone to the hospital since then, for any reason. Also, after weight loss surgery it’s very difficult to feel normal. Like I can’t have a normal meal anymore. And I’m not looking to eat like a giant portion of food but I can only stomach 3 to 4 bites of food even after six months. And it is really depressing, because I’m a foodie and not being able to eat a full meal makes me depressed often. But after six months, seeing the physical appearance changes and having more energy does offset the mental issues. I just wanted to share my opinion because I know a lot of people are very hush-hush about weight loss surgeries, and nobody ever talks about it trying to keep it a secret. At least that’s what it was like for me when I tried to inquire through friends and family about the surgery because I was looking to get it, but nobody wanted to talk about it. Also say goodbye to some of your favorite foods. I am sad most of the time because a lot of my favorite foods don’t taste good anymore. Like sometimes even thinking about some things make me nauseous and it really sucks. Some of it’s not even like bad food, like not fried chicken or something like that it’s like a wrap makes me nauseous and it used to be my favorite all-time food.

Idk why people think weight loss surgery is like cheating or the “easy way” to lose weight. There is NOTHING easy about weight loss surgery before and after. It’s a lifetime commitment and you are expected to exercise and eat well afterwards. And if she doesn’t want to tell the world she has weight loss surgery (if she did) then that’s fine and no one’s business.

Think about everything we seen on the show plus everything that girl had to go through behind the scenes. I'm not surprised that the girl eventually it's not going to go into a place where she's just going to lock herself in a room and not talk to anyone ever again. All the pressure to being popular at a very young age is not healthy. Besides we heard enough about young women basically little girls being forced to be a woman at a very young age. Making them do things that little girl shouldn't even know about.

She’s the baby that had all eyes on her for awhile. Then the real reality struck her family down by their own hand. She got attention for what was good at the time, all cute and curly and smart mouthed. She thrived on that attention, she’d like to feel that lime light again somehow. So weight loss is her only choice, she’s been talking about it for some time now. Talk. Nothing wrong with surgery, but that’s only the beginning. She doesn’t seem like she has what it takes to succeed. She still acts like a little brat princess. She needs a little therapy to shed the baggage before the pounds. More power to her. Don’t kid yourself though, find your authentic self and be honest with her. Protect your character. Think of a couple females that you truly respect and find out why and then be that way.

Sometimes a person can do everything right and their body is just naturally big. Look at her family. It’s probably a genetic issue in which case you would need surgery. You also need to maintain that weight after surgery. My Aunt had weight loss surgery and didn’t eat healthy/exercise and gained the weight right back. Don’t judge others on THEIR journey ❤️

No. Can we stop using this excuse already? Yes, some people are genetically predisposed to be larger or hold onto weight, but not that much. If a short woman weighs over 225lbs (I'd argue 200lbs, but whatever), that's due to poor diet and zero exercise. Genetics and diseases/illnesses can add on weight and make it difficult to lose, but it's not an excuse -- if you're susceptible to weight gain, do something about it. By saying "It's genetics," you're only saying that a person isn't driven to do anything and has zero personal accountability. Obese people know what they can do to improve their situation, but they don't want to make the changes to help themselves, and by saying they can't help it, you're only keeping them stuck.
