Gosh - just goes to show, we all have lessons to learn. Your "to the camera" delivery is always so very good. Perhaps you can edit in (I appreciate it's a lots of extra work & editing) a panning shot of your set ups. There were a few still in this video and a teaser here and there but an overview e.g. of your journey from truck to honey room would be very interesting to see. I guess you're envious of those Americans who drive in, unload with a crane or forklift and have all the manual handling set up in a HUGE shed. Me too !!!

When ever I run any pipe or cable under ground I run it through water pipe and bury in sand. Then if you should need to upgrade or replace the pipe/cable you can do it easily. Your upgrade looks good now.

I must send you my plans for extending my honey room, I think they are great plans. I plan to have my honey room, up stairs in my shed and have the honey from extractor and decapping tray piped into a 12 inch pipe with filters going down through the floor to my current honey room which will then become my bottling room. I hope you understand what I mean
@BlackMountainHoney3 жыл бұрын
I like the physics but there is no way I could deal will carry in hundreds of supers up a stair case! Design in a lift and work out how you are going to maintain the pipes. KISS

If I ever get to the point of keeping bees and needing a honey room, I reckon putting supers on pallets during collection then movement into honey room by pallet truck might be a thing for me. Helped a local bee keeper this week with harvesting and it's one thing I got from your video was that work flow mistake he's made.

Ok, Im a floor layer by trade, the flooring is not really suitable for an area that has food stuffs and potential to get wet, I would have advised an anti slip floor that is coved up the walls @4'' height with welded joints, you were right about the Altro flooring that would be coved up the walls, the upvc walls and ceiling 10/10.

It's interesting seeing how you've had to change everything. Also worrying how my honeyroom is exactly half the size of yours meaning chances are that I'm going to have to change location earlier. Problem with converting a garage I guess😅 Carndean is excellent for normal use, not sure how it will deal with heavy equipment. I'd highly recommend an epoxy style resin floor
@BlackMountainHoney3 жыл бұрын
Problem in a log cabin is the wooden floor. Its so flexible. Epoxy resin just wouldn't have worked. Ive already dragged a 250kg uncapper over it and its stayed intact! We will see though!
@greghamilton8893 жыл бұрын
@@BlackMountainHoney very fair point, thought it might have been a concrete base. The benefit of Carndean is that if you knacker some pieces it's easy enough to replace them

Like keeping it simple. Just build a shed out side that runs a spinner and pumps into the tank.
