HAPPY NEW YEARS WOO!! 2024 finally in the bucket
i said i'd have a larger animation soon: well here it is! i'd had the idea for at least a few years, started it back in liiike 2022-23, and then gave up. i revamped it and worked on it instead of working on a final paper... (which i still aced haha). not a huge project but, it being 2 minutes and 40 seconds, took me a bit!
dates were december 3rd 2024 - jan 2 2025 on and off
total time was around 15 hours of work!
procreate was used for the art, and alight motion for the editing. rendered at 12fps! the hourglass in the middle was done at 4fps on flipaclip
characters are from darkstalker legends! if you haven't read it and are a smidgeon confused right now,, READ IT!! absolutely sensational book

this is so amazing!!! i love all the depictions of Arctic's death. I'm usually not one for gruesome things, but I think you captured the horror in it really well

I never realised how well this song works so well with Darkstalker. The “god” being Darkstalker as he views himself one, the father being Arctic, and the “vivisection of me, done by God for all to see” representing the disembowelment of Arctic and how Darkstalker showed it up on stage for “all to see”, not to mention the line “God devoured that of father.” works extremely well. The “line of white noise” being the streak of IceWing scales under Darkstalker’s wing, it’s genius. I’m also adoring the line-less art style, it looks very clean and alive. Overall an amazing piece of art!
