Ngl I'm at the point where if a company advertises primarily through KZbin sponsorships, I automatically assume it's a scam or, at the very least, a poor quality product. The only exceptions are if it's something that ties in with the KZbinr's niche - like, for example, dice companies collaborating with DnD channels, etc.
@hoennfanboyКүн бұрын
Exactly this. Its a mediocre product at best (raycon earbuds for example) and upsold to hell, or a straight up scam. These companies rely on people who's audience trusts them. I would strongly recommend never buying or downloading anything that youtubers sponsor simply as a precaution bc this happens all the time. Also its just really easy to search on reddit etc about sponsored products and see what people actually think of them (im shading raycons again lol)

As someone who works in IT I can say that companies and devs are HYPER aware of the way user's intuition works. We know that a user will think of the "Got it" button as a "Close" button that simply closes a window or a button that takes you to the next step in a form. If we try to prey on that user intuition and do something else behind the scenes that's not there to help the current user interaction then that's deception. We're using the user as a tool to scam. The user is not at fault because they don't know what they're doing. It's like if a person on one side of the wall presses the "turn off lights" button, assuming it will only turn off lights, they press, lights turn off but they don't know that at the same time another person on the other side of the wall gets electrocuted as the button gets pressed. Who's at fault the person or the one who designed it to work this way?

Nooooo 😭😭 As a precaution I would recommend just never buying anything that youtubers sponsor. Its usually mediocre products upsold (raycons cough cough) or just straight up scams. I also think the companies that have to pay so much for other people to sell to their audiences who trust them, are shady asf ive honestly never seen a product or game that sponsors a lot that is worth buying or using at all.

I Catalunya, on boxing day we celebrate Sant Esteve (Saint Esteve), which is a festivity where you eat the remnants of christmas food, specially a food called "canelons", super good. I also enjoy more the more relaxed vibes and less stakes on that day.

Adam ily but you always downplay how smart you are and you should know that literally you are such an intelligent person and are one of the few people on youtube who will actually look at the facts surrounding a situation and come to their own conclusion despite what the popular opinion is and I admire that so much!! If anyone should be schooling these crypto bros and scammers its you!!

I will say I did see Charlie (moist critical) posted a video about it, he even watched megalags video! I personally think he did a decent job on talking about it and owning up to promoting this terrible giant. But, that's my opinion. Hope everyones safe and well during this holiday season ! ^^

Yeah I absolutely remember the days when sponsorships was a taboo... I'm not sure when that changed, but I feel like it started becoming normal when Audible made its rounds and then the book deals. could be wrong though, my main KZbin consumption was between 2009-2017 then took a 7 year break and has now come back in full swing haha
@viciousbagelКүн бұрын
Yup. I’ve been smelling scam on this service for years - a lot of KZbinrs I love have done Honey sponsorships, and every time I would be like NOOO

Oof. I have Honey because I don’t always shop online but some things are better price, and it technically has saved me a lot of money. But I never got the “money back” it talked about despite all the purchases. Picked specific Yarn to get “2.70 back!” But never did. Basically just got a discount and that’s it. Which was nice, but you get what I mean

I can provide some insight into the discount codes not showing up thing. Some affiliate programs make it so that discount codes are specific to one affiliate, and that if a customer clicks on someone else’s link and THEN uses the discount code, it’ll still be attributed to the original affiliate who ‘owns’ the code and the affiliate who poached the code wouldn’t get any commission
@FaithpmickyКүн бұрын
AYYYYYY MADE IT EARLY! So I’ll be honest, it was an easy sign up FOR ME personally, but it gave me some discounts and where I was financially, I truly did need it… or so I THOUGHT. So to me this is CRAZY to find out… WE CAN’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE AROUND HERE😭🤣

To answer the Boxing Day question, I think it's primarily just a Commonwealth thing and isn't observed in many other countries outside of that. I found that out as a Canadian when I was in California over Christmas once, years ago, and found out that most Americans have no idea what Boxing Day is since it's not a thing there (which I found out the awkward way since I had no idea it wasn't a thing there either). lol

Im scottish for context, i LOVE boxing day, usually when youre younger boxing day is reserved for taking all your toys out their boxes and playing with them fully. As we got older it was more so for taking all your stuff up to your room and organizing it. Usually we do a breakfast “buffet” of warm buttered croissants and a spread of like jam, scrambled eggs, bacon, fried eggs, cheese etc and having your own toppings in a crosisant sandwich. Its my fav day ever cause i get to have a good ass breakfast and look through all the stuff i got properly
