Honey Lemon Ginger Tea 蜂蜜檸檬薑茶 | 꿀레몬생강청 | Natural Cold & Flu Remedy | Cook

The City of San Francisco is locked down from March 17 due to coronavirus. We've been staying at home, eating at home, working at home, while getting some groceries once in a while.
We made this honey lemon ginger jar and make tea out of it. In Asia, ginger is said to be nutritious, help improve our immune system, and fight against the cold and flu? But of course, washing hands and shelter in place are still the keys.
Now, if individually can practice social distancing and be healthy, i is already doing our part.

/ English recipe and tips followed / 如果覺得視頻有幫助，幫忙點一個 讚 支持我吧，非常非常感謝你！祝愉快~❥ 蜂蜜檸檬薑茶罐 食譜 ・原材料（750ml） 三個檸檬 蜂蜜 400-500g 薑 50g（取決於你的個人喜好） 鹽 用於清洗檸檬 適量 ・做法 1. 給玻璃罐消毒：放到鍋中，大火燒開，取出後倒扣晾乾。有效的消毒可以讓罐頭保存更久。 2. 清晰檸檬：檸檬稍微沾濕，然後沾上鹽，用手搓洗，好把上面的蠟搓掉。之後放到溫水中泡一會。 3. 切薑片。放多少取決於個人喜好。 4. 取出檸檬，用廚房紙擦幹，切片，每片大概5mm、或者更薄。 5. 在已經消毒過的玻璃罐裡，依次加入檸檬、薑片、和蜜糖，直到整個放滿（最後倒蜂蜜的時候要小心別溢出來，我的教訓...）。 6. 蓋上蓋子，瓶身倒扣，以達到更好的密封效果，室溫保存到一天，等各種材料自己混合之後（汁液會更稀了，沒蜂蜜那麼粘稠），放到冰箱保存2天。 7. 取出使用，可以倒入冷水或者溫水（不要用熱水，會破壞營養），享用~ * 密封的蜂蜜檸檬薑茶罐放到冰箱可以保存2個月，但是一旦開了蓋，建議兩周內吃完~ Honey bees in the video at 02:26! Here is the recipe for 🍋honey lemon ginger tea🍋: ・Ingredient for a 750ml jar: 3 lemons honey 400-500g ginger 50g (depends on how spicy you could take) salt as needed ・Process: 1. Disinfect your jar: put the opened jar in a pot of water, boil it to disinfect. And take out the jar, set aside, let it drain and cool down. 2. Clean the lemon: I use salt to rub it, so as to remove the wax. Then soak in warm water. 3. Peel ginger and cut into slices. 4. Take out the lemon from water, remove extra water with a kitchen napkin. And slice them, 5mm thickness or thinner. 5. Add the lemon, ginger and honey to the jar in layers. Repeat until you have used all the produce and the jar is full. (be careful! Don't let the honey flow out of the jar, my lesson...) 6. Close up the lid of the jar, and turn it upside down (for better sealing) under room temperature for one day, allow all the ingredients to combine and the flavors to infuse. Then move it to the fridge for 2 days. 7. In your cup, place in a few slices of lemon and ginger, add warm or cold water (no hot water, it will destroy ginger nutrition), enjoy! * The mixture will keep in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 2 months. If opened, I recommend to consume them within two week.

Oops… I think a better way of getting down the honey into the jar is to pour a little into the jar first, then layer the lemon slices and ginger, then repeat with honey again. Keep repeating until everything is in the jar and push the honey down with spoon. That’s how I do mine. Easy. 😉

Probably it is because the slight different tastes in lemons types. One way you could avoid the bitterness is to peel off all the white rind and skin, they are bitter😖

Definitely You are right about the disposable masks. But at the time when I shot the video, it was the start of the pandemic and masks were in shortage. It was suggested to reuse them to relieve the situation. That’s why I hung them in a ventilated location for 2 weeks and reused them… those are gone now🙃

Hi Saiyara, thank you! Once opened I recommend to consume it within 2 weeks for best flavor. Otherwise, a properly sealed jar could be stored at room temperature for up to 2-3 months!

Bitterness comes from seeds and lemon oils in peels. I usually remove all the seeds but keeps the peels. With honey, I don’t taste much bitterness. However you could play safe and remove the peels too, then it won’t get bitter. Hope it helps!
