Quick correction: Male willow catkin flowers do produce pollen and nectar. I was thinking about alders when I spoke in the video!!

Nice work Etienne! In addition to identifying the nectar sources of the honey, melissopalynology also helps the beekeeper to identify accurately the time of the nectar flow which is the blooming time of the dominant plants that are detected in the honey, so that the beekeeper can manage his schedule to prepare his hive for receiving the nectar flow

Hi Etienne, thank you so much for your very detailed video. May I ask what digital microscope are you using and how many pixel? I heard 2mp is good enough as higher pixel doesn't make much difference. Is that true? Thanks in advance.

I read the same, but I bought this before knowing that. I am using 40X-2500X M837L Series Trinocular LED Microscope w/ Phase-Contrast Turret + 18MP USB 3.0 Digital Camera,

@@etiennetardif6552 I see. Thanks. For the reference, did you use the same techniques? And another thing...why analyze the pollen from the honey, not from the bee bread? I wanna know more about the technicality...hope to see more videos like this.
